Abigail Hirschfeld LCSW
It takes courage to ask for help when you need it, and I'm so glad you're here. I'm passionate about mental health, trauma work, and advocacy and it is a privilege to support people of all ages on their healing journeys. Starting college can come with all kinds of challenges - Academic pressure, perfectionism, anxiety, homesickness, identity shifts, and major life changes. This can be a lot of manage, and you may be carrying experiences from your life before you got here.
Whatever it is you’re facing, I’ll meet you with warmth & honesty, and we will work together toward your goals as a team. This is always an LGBTQI+ Safe Space.
I began my work in mental health 10 years ago on crisis hotlines, and have since worked with all ages in many settings.
I support students who are experiencing:
- Anxiety and perfectionism
- Depression
- Trauma and past experiences
- Chronic illness and chronic pain
- Homesickness and life transitions
- Identity and self-worth
I also support clients in navigating complex medical and school systems, learning self-advocacy, & processing painful experiences. I work to help clients realize their own strength, and feel empowered in their own care and in their lives.
My approach to therapy is rooted in trust & rapport, because that’s what makes this work together possible. I am warm, honest, and encourage clients to challenge & take down negative beliefs they have about themselves.
If you are feeling ready to take next steps, please reach out - I'd love to work with you!
