It's wonderful you're taking the step to care for your mental health! I have a heart for college and graduate students and understand the unique stressors of university life, such as academic pressure, social anxieties, and navigating the transition to independence. I am also passionate about helping individuals explore how their cultural and ethnic identities and upbringing interplay with their mental well-being, including the experiences related to cultural identity and navigating multiple cultural spaces.
My background as a teacher, HR professional, writer, wife, mother of four children, mother-in-law, grandmother, and therapist has broadened my empathy and understanding of diverse experiences. I graduated with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University and am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a well-researched method for trauma. I offer a collaborative therapeutic approach, and utilize many researched methods tailored to your individual needs.
I understand that family history and early relationships can significantly impact mental health, so I often begin by exploring these areas. Together, we'll create a plan to achieve your goals. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, but I have a special connection with college and graduate students during this unique time of exploration.
Please reach out, and let's navigate this journey together.
