I work with teens and young adults hoping to better manage life's difficulties and troubles with intense emotions, unhelpful thoughts, and problematic relationships. Ultimately, people in treatment want to change and feel more fulfilled at school or work, in relationships, and with their sense of personal growth. I have worked with many college students hoping to improve their mental health during this stage of life.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy emphasizes that we will work on these issues together within a safe and supportive relationship. We can collaborate on your goals as we explore new perspectives, new meanings, and new ways of thinking about and experiencing your overwhelming life stress. Your emotional problems and issues in relationships may emerge in our relationship. My style is warm, curious, and I can appreciate a sense of humor.
I have specialized training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with children and adolescents from the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. As a psychiatrist, I also prescribe medication when appropriate. I invite you to reach out and see if we would be a good fit for starting this work.
I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network sessions.
