I do this by collaborating with you to develop an individualized and holistic plan tailored to your unique experiences and goals. I draw from EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Feminist Therapy, CBT and other integrative approaches. I consider my therapeutic style to be warm, empowering, open-minded, and honest. I enjoy working with adults living in California, including fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Thanks for stopping by and investing in yourself today. I can't wait to meet you!
If you are neurodivergent or queer, you may feel like you have to hide your true self in fear of being rejected by others. You often mimic others to fit in, hide your true self, and strive for perfection to gain acceptance. Simply for being yourself, you're labeled as "weird," "strange," or "different," leading to deep feelings of isolation. If you're figuring out your differences or struggling with your needs, there is a way to go from just getting by to doing well. Clients come to me for help understanding their autism, ADHD, or queer identity. They value my knowledge in neurodivergence and LGBTQ+ issues. I strongly support you in embracing and discovering your true self, standing by you throughout your journey. The right therapist for you listens without judgment or projecting normative expectations. Working together, you'll release long-suppressed tears and gain 'aha!' insights into your past and present. Email me for a free 15-minute consultation to see if I'm the right fit for you!
College can be a time of major change - new pressures, big decisions, and lots of uncertainty. If you're feeling stuck or in transition, we’ll work together to clarify what you want, what’s getting in the way, and how to build more self-trust. You'll learn to feel more grounded, even when things in school or life feel unclear or in-between.

Hey I'm Ari (she/her) and I am glad you've stumbled on my profile. Early adulthood is a time of intense change, individuation, social pressure, and self-doubt. I support teens and young adults with identity exploration, improving relationships with themselves and others, building resilience, and much more. If you're a college student looking for some mental health support, I'm looking forward to connecting with you to see if we may be a good fit. While I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and presenting concerns, I have specialized training in supporting the mental health of LGBTQIA+, transgender & gender diverse adolescents and adults. Being a student is difficult enough as it is, but having to navigate gender, sexuality, identity, and relationships on top of these stressors is a lot. I help college-age students to improve their mental health in the midst of social, structural and institutional barriers. With a holistic understanding of the impact that societal oppression has on mental health I am dedicated to healing, wellness & joy. Our time together will be collaborative & affirming, and we will co-create a supportive space for you to increase self-understanding, improve your relationship with yourself and others, build resiliency and develop tangible tools you can use to improve your mental health. Finding a therapist you mesh with can be a process that takes time, resources and energy. I understand how important it is to work with a therapist who shows up as a whole, authentic person, so I prioritize genuine connection in our work. I invite you to contact me with questions you may have about working together and to schedule a no-cost 15 minute consultation so we can get to know one another. Are you tired of "reacting" and not feeling good about yourself? Is your past controlling you in the present in ways that aren't serving you? When we are "hijacked" by our past experiences we lose the ability to "choose" how we want to respond. This affects how we feel physically and emotionally; which can make us feel depressed, anxious, shameful. This in turn impacts the quality of our interpersonal relationships. It doesn't have to be that way. I see therapy as a relational and collaborative process that supports wellbeing on mental, physical and spiritual levels. My approach blends several Somatic and Talk based psychotherapies: EMDR, The Trauma Resiliency Model, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Relational, and several, Mindfulness based awareness techniques which include my many years background in the healing effects of yoga. Each person is an embodied being with pleasant an unpleasant experiences embedded in the flesh and bones and tangled in the mind. My therapeutic work with individuals and couples is to process the unpleasant and build resiliency in support of personal transformation.
