If you have found yourself here it is because you are wanting to make a change in your life and/or your relationships. Maybe you have been being experiencing pain, are feeling overwhelmed at work or at home, have been experiencing low self-esteem, or you are stuck in a relationship that is no longer serving you. The therapeutic process is a powerful one where you get to work through your emotions and thoughts to see if these thoughts and emotions are in service to you. We believe that these emotions we experience are telling us something about our needs, and rather than not listening to this, we encourage our clients to lean into the experience of feeling. We are here to walk through this process with you and it is our absolute privilege to be engaging in this work with you. Here at Living Within Therapy we work with individuals coping with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and loss to name a few. We use evidence-based approaches, including but not limited to: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy; however, we tailor our approach to meet your needs. In addition, we work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and are LGBTQIA affirming. We work collaboratively with our clients throughout the entire process to ensure your needs are being met. Feedback is imperative within the therapeutic relationship to make sure this is happening for you. Our main objective is to assist you in feeling safe to share your experiences and to discover hope and your strengths within the therapeutic process so that you can connect with yourself and your values. We believe that the client/therapist relationship is the most important component of therapy; therefore, we offer a free fifteen-minute phone consultation to help you determine if we are the right fit. Looking forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Dealing with challenges in life is never easy; nor is deciding to seek professional support with a therapist. As a therapist, I strive to provide a safe and supportive space for you to heal and grow. I am looking forward to working with you together to increase awareness, explore your strengths/identities, and develop new ways to live your life. Witnessing my clients to better connect to themselves, their loved ones, and grow new potential is the most fulfilling part of my work. My approach is integrative, strength-based with an emphasis on psychodynamic, relational, and Jungian psychology principles. Before moving to the US, I worked at National Taiwan University Hospital as a licensed clinical psychologist and a supervisor. My experience of transitioning between and practicing in different countries deepened my passion working with international students, immigrants, children of immigrants, and Asian Americans in multicultural and feminist perspectives. I provide individual therapy in English and Mandarin. I completed pre-doctoral internship at California Pacific Medical Center and postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente, Santa Clara. I specialize in helping preteens(9-12)/teens, adults, and parents on a range of multicultural issues. Let's connect and see if we are a good fit!

But whether you are seeking individual, couples, or group therapy, you have taken a leap into the process of healing. With curiosity and a fresh perspective, I aim to empower you to reclaim your voice, work towards the change you seek, and to meet your authentic self. Though you have already taken the first step, I hope to foster the healing process even further by providing a deeply caring, non-judgmental atmosphere. I have experience with diverse age groups, races, gender identities, and sexual orientations, and have worked in community mental health, residential treatment, school settings, and private practice. If you are are seeking a space to explore feelings connected to lack of motivation, avoidance, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty in platonic and romantic relationships, and feeling burnout from your current way of moving through the world, know that there is hope of having a different experience of yourself, your relationships and the world around you. Within working with a wide breath of clients, I have a passion for men’s mental health and working with young men and the issues that come up in their lives today. Through it all, however, my approach has always been focused on the human in front of me, and in meeting them where they are. I work with my individuals, couples and groups to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your relationships. With a psychodynamic lens and a belief that as a species we all have the need to connect, I look forward to hearing from you to see how we may feel about working together.

Many of the students I work with feel overwhelmed by their thoughts, anxious about the future, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break. Some deal with intrusive thoughts, constant worry, or panic that gets in the way of school, relationships, or sleep. Others are coping with past experiences, burnout, or the pressure to “keep it all together.” I offer a space where you don’t have to pretend you’re fine. Together, we slow things down, understand what’s happening in your mind and body, and build tools that help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.

Hi there! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in San Diego, CA, and have been working as a social worker for a little over five years. I've worked with all ages, from elementary school students to adults, but I particularly enjoy working with college students and young professionals who are juggling life transitions, family and relationships, work/school, and the constantly changing world around us. I previously spent several years working at an university serving students from historically marginalized communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and first-generation students. I integrate aspects of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) into my work with clients. I tailor these techniques and skills to the individual needs and wishes of each client, since some approaches work better for some than others. I aim to create a warm, trauma-informed environment for each client where they can feel authentically themselves, without judgment. All feelings are welcome in session with me. I enjoy being able to collaborate with clients on working towards the goals they want to achieve, and building on the strengths and supports they have already. I offer free 15-minute consultations to see if we'd be a good fit - feel free to email me to schedule or if you have any additional questions!
