It is discouraging to navigate a world that doesn’t see you, that misunderstands you or makes you invisible based on your gender, race, sexuality, size, trauma history and a host of other factors. Systemic oppression impacts your mental health as much your history does. It can be intimidating to reach out to a therapist because you want to find someone who really understands you. Mental health has a history of victim-blaming and pathologizing. I am a queer therapist offering trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples. I utilize an intersectional feminist and social justice lens. I specialize in working with queer, gender-blessed and other non-mainstream individuals and relationships, including non-monogamous, age-gap, cross-cultural and queer relationships.

I work with individuals and couples using a strength-based approach that is interactive, collaborative and informed by the latest research on attachment theory, neuroscience, and mindfulness. I see each person as more than the problem they walk in with, emphasizing their unique strengths and resilience as the most important ingredients for healing. I specialize in working with men to help deepen their capacity to understand and manage complex emotional states so they can have more self-confidence and greater satisfaction in their relationships.

Living with intense and debilitating feelings may leave you with a sense of overwhelm, hopelessness, and anger. You may have conflicts in your relationships, hold resentments, or try your best to manage with unsuccessful ways of coping. Do you have a hard time feeling safe or heard in your relationships, or trusting your intuition? You deserve a safe and supportive relationship to heal the impact of life. I help highly emotional and high conflict persons manage their intense emotional experiences, understand the causes, and learn alternative ways to cope so they can navigate life and relationships with greater satisfaction. My work is uniquely tailored to you and infuses aspects of evidence-based therapies with genuine feedback to help you gain awareness of patterns that keep you stuck and assist in moving you from surviving to thriving. As we connect, we may walk through the mud together, identify practical skills to manage the chaos of life, discover and develop your sense of inner wisdom, and navigate what keeps you stuck and why. We might even share a few laughs together. Whatever you find yourself struggling with, I invite you to no longer suffer alone.

Carlota Dorn
***Currently serving individuals in California and Oregon*** Hello! My name is Carlota, and I am a social justice advocate; a believer in science; a fierce and overly-obsessed dog mom to two wacky pups; an immigrant; and steadfast in my conviction that we have a fundamental obligation to help one another if we have the means and capacity to do so. I am a licensed clinical social worker, and have been in practice since 2013. I completed my undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley in 2008, and received my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2013 from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. I embrace evidence-based and research-supported therapies, while also honoring the power of the therapeutic relationship and process. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, depression, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and panic, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, and life transitions. I am a trained teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression (IPT-D). I also have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for Bipolar Disorder, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for the treatment of PTSD in children and teens. Why might I be a good fit for you? Because I get it, and I am whole-heartedly with you on this journey. I know that coming to therapy is a profound undertaking, and that what I will ask of you in this process is not easy. Introspection, change, and confronting avoidance are hard, and so I strive to provide a safe, authentic, and collaborative environment that honors your story, experience, and identity with compassion and without judgment; I strive to be worthy of bearing witness to your story. ***Sirviendo a personas ubicadas en California y OregĂłn*** ¡Hola! Soy una trabajadora social, y he estado en práctica desde 2013. Looking for a therapist can feel frightening and overwhelming. This is especially true if you are one of those individuals who have it all put together, yet often worry about what others may think. Do you struggle with feelings of loneliness, fear, guilt, shame, anger, difficulties trusting others and difficulties feeling joy. Therapy is a transformational process and I certainly understand being anxious or even fearful of change. Through my personal experience in psychotherapy and work with clients, I have witnessed the healing and change the therapeutic process offers. My approach is warm and welcoming. I strive to establish a peaceful and safe environment. I truly believe beauty and healing are often a result of allowing light shine to our darkest places. With the right space and support, you can achieve the things you want to achieve as well as heal from past hurts. I hold the same belief when completing psychological evaluations for Immigration. I also offer the opportunity of telehealth- video conference sessions in order to expand my ability to offer safe therapeutic support. Looking forward to hearing from you and being part of your journey

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety disorders and related conditions. I am experienced in treating Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, OCD, substance use, and PTSD. My goal in practice is to deliver effective, efficient care and to provide a safe, encouraging space for change to happen on your terms, guided by your personal values. After I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University Medicine (2017-2019), I stayed on as faculty, working in the dual-diagnosis/addiction medicine clinic until deciding to relocate and establish my practice in LA in 2021. As a researcher and therapist, it is my passion to deliver the most cutting-edge therapies out there for anxiety. I am certified in Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD and have expertise in other exposure therapies for anxiety disorders. Heath behavior change (quitting smoking, exercise) and chronic pain are also areas within my scope. Please reach out to me if you think I might be a good fit for your needs. All services are currently being delivered remote via telehealth. I am also open to seeing California-residing clients via telehealth who are outside of my area. Having trained at Notre Dame, U.C. Berkeley and Stanford, I bring rigorous scientific expertise into my clinical work with adolescents, college students, millennials and high profile professionals. I often work with high-achieving individuals who find themselves looking for practical solutions to the barriers that impede their success. My clients are often driven, maybe a little overworked, and in need of balance! Having been there myself, I get it! I aim to be part coach, part cheerleader, and part educator as I support clients in living their optimal lives zestfully and fearlessly! I love what I do and can't wait to meet you! As a TEDx speaker, top media expert, adjunct professor at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology, tv personality and author of multiple clinical workbooks and tools, I employ a highly active approach to therapy. I combine CBT, mindfulness, and positive psychology interventions. My therapy style is a blend of processing emotions and teaching critical life skills. In today's ever fast-paced world, we can feel disconnected and alone. I thrive on building relationships marked by empathy, trust, hope, and always, laughter. Being a therapist has been my life's passion since I was 11! How many therapists can say that? ***Please note I only see clients virtually part-time. Please also review my website and FAQ PRIOR to booking and inquiries. TY!!

My passion is in helping my clients see themselves as innately whole, healthy, and resilient. I work in partnership with my clients to identify their goals and together we collaborate to work toward these goals. I am an EMDR certified therapist and I provide IFS-informed EMDR therapy in addition to other talk therapy modalities. I have found EMDR to be an especially powerful therapy, effective in healing PTSD/trauma, and helpful in addressing anxiety, depression, addictions, phobias, present or future fears, and distressing life experiences. I have been inspired by infusing IFS with EMDR, an approach that I use to guide my clients through internal complexities. With this therapeutic approach, I can help you in working through the barriers that may be holding you back. Your core beliefs as to how you see yourself and the world have the capacity to shift. What may feel heavy can become lighter. It is possible to experience a sense of relief. For more information, my website is www.annasolomontherapy.com.
