College can bring pressure from every direction—academics, relationships, family expectations, finances, identity, and uncertainty about what comes next. You may be doing everything expected of you while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. I work well with students who want to understand the patterns shaping their lives, strengthen their boundaries, improve their relationships, and make decisions with greater confidence. I also support students navigating cultural identity, major life transitions, family conflict, burnout, grief, and the challenges of living or studying away from home. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and practical. We will look at your experiences within the context of your relationships, history, culture, responsibilities, and current environment. Sessions provide space to explore what is happening beneath the surface while developing tools you can use in your everyday life. My goal is to help you build greater clarity, self-trust, and a stronger sense of direction.
In a world that is constantly changing, it can be difficult to keep a pace that feels comfortable and productive. If you have reached a point where old coping skills no longer work, or you are looking to find healthier ways to cope with life challenges, I'm here to help. In therapy we will work together to develop awareness of how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect one another, build skills to handle difficult emotions and make behavior change, and practice these skills in a variety of situations so you may be able to support yourself moving forward. True growth and healing happen in the most uncomfortable spaces at times. However, you do not have to wait until you are in the eye of a storm to seek counseling services. Embarking on the therapeutic journey is an important life decision and finding a therapist whose expertise fits your needs is just as vital. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we work to assist clients with achieving goals by cultivating self-awareness, identifying personal strengths, and gaining new perspectives. Having worked both in crisis management centers, drug Rehabs, Adult psych hospitals and children’s psych hospitals, I decided to go back to school for my Master’s in Nursing 4 years ago to expand my knowledge and use my wealth of experience in good use. The students I work best with are often feeling overwhelmed by the demands of college and life. They may be struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, self-doubt, relationship challenges, family pressures, academic concerns, or major life transitions. Many are used to being the "strong one" for everyone else and find themselves feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of how to prioritize their own needs. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where students can better understand their emotions, build healthy coping skills, improve self-confidence, set boundaries, and navigate challenges with greater clarity. Whether they are adjusting to college life, managing stress, exploring their identity, or working through personal struggles, I help students develop practical tools and insight so they can feel more balanced, confident, and connected to what matters most to them.
Drawing from 10+ years of clinical experience, I use a solution-focused approach to teach skills to overcome worry, depression, anger, stress, guilt, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship struggles, and parenting challenges. My clients and I work on improving their wellness and their lives by exploring helpful solutions, perspectives, and habits.
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. – Ralph Waldo Emerson Hello. I am Tina, a Nurse Practitioner who is board-certified in Psychiatry, Family, and Midwifery. As human beings, we often find ourselves wanting more freedom, or perhaps wanting more purpose in our lives, or craving a sense of inner peace. Other times, we find ourselves caught up in difficult and challenging relationships in our personal lives or at work. Whether your life feels overwhelming or underwhelming, I believe that care and courage, along with some healthy curiosity can go a long way in helping you locate new possibilities and finding solutions that work for you. My process is not a one-size-fits-all affair. Indeed, the work we do together is unique to each and every individual I encounter and always begins with accepting you just as you are. Beginning the self-exploration of therapy is an act of courage. I respect your bravery by always providing a calm, warm, and nonjudgmental space to discuss and process your concerns. Together, we’ll collaborate in clarifying your goals, identifying effective strategies, and finding a path that will work for you.
I worked eight years as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in several settings before expanding my specialty to Psychiatry/Mental Health; it was the best career decision I could have made. I started practicing Psychiatry in a correctional setting, treating adolescents and adults. It was there that I recognized the significance of early mental health promotion, screening, and treatment. For the past four years, I’ve worked in a private practice with a diverse patient population across the lifespan. My main role is assessing, diagnosing, education, and medication management, and I occasionally incorporate therapy. I have found that motivational interviewing helps elicit the patient’s goals and determine readiness for change. The individual patient and his/her goals dictate my chosen therapy modality. Brief supportive therapy, Grief therapy, and CBT interventions are the modalities I most often incorporate. All psychiatry providers at Foresight have specialized experience in treating a wide range of common mental health conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, and PTSD. In addition, I specialize in the following areas: academic stress, BIPOC mental health issues, CBT-I, comorbidities/medical complexity, deprescribing, holistic approaches to psychiatry, LGBTQIQ2s+ mental health, personality disorders, somatic symptoms disorders, trauma-informed care, anger management, antisocial personality disorder, autism spectrum disorder, chronic illness, chronic pain, developmental disorders, dissociative disorders, first responders, grief, men’s issues, pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum, racial identity, self harming (non-suicidal self injurious behavior), transgender care, veterans care, women’s issues (PMDD, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, etc.)

I am a Physician Assistant experienced in working in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. I diagnose and help patients to manage conditions including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, sleep issues, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and much more. Through medication management, I aspire to help my patients manage their conditions as best as possible by using the least amount of medication in order to manage their symptoms. I also am familiar with over-the-counter / naturopathic approaches to mental health and how using these vitamins as adjuncts to medication can often work synergistically with psychiatric meds. I know that medications aren’t always the only method to improve your mental health, so oftentimes I refer my patients to counseling and therapy too. Originally from the state of FL, I graduated from then University of FL with my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies before earning my PA degree from the University of South Alabama in 2020. I was recently awarded a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry by the NCCPA.

My practice is designed to support students who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the challenges of navigating new phases in life. Whether it’s the pressure of academic or family expectations, managing cultural tensions, or struggling with uncertainty about the future, I understand how these issues can make even day-to-day tasks feel heavy and consuming. Many of my clients find themselves caught in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or feeling stuck between different identities and responsibilities. As a first-generation immigrant and veteran, I bring both lived experience and clinical insight to the work I do. I specialize in supporting immigrants and children of immigrants who are balancing complex cultural dynamics while trying to succeed academically, socially, and personally. My goal is to help students like you break free from the weight of these internal and external pressures, and move toward a life that feels grounded and self-directed. Together, we’ll create a plan that is realistic, culturally responsive, and tailored to your goals. If you’re ready to explore new ways of coping, build confidence, and feel more in control of your path forward, I’m here to offer support, insight, and tools to help you thrive.
I have experience working with adults and elderly who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders, along with major life transitions and end-of-life decisions. My work with adolescents includes depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, school behavior concerns, and sexual identity. We will talk about negative thoughts and behaviors & learn techniques to alleviate the symptoms you are experiencing using play-, talk-, and/or art- therapy techniques. We will work together to achieve self-acceptance. I will provide a judgment free zone, with a feeling of safety, comfort, and an open mind. I often had difficulty expressing my feelings & my father taught me how to think critically, love unconditionally, never judge, and how to use other forms of self-expression, like art and writing. I was introduced to AA meetings & found comfort & safety to express my thoughts with my father’s life lessons & knew this was my path. I earned my BS in Psychology at Florida State University in 2015 and MS in Counseling with a concentration in mental health at NOVA Southeastern University in 2019. I am Trilingual (English/Spanish/French). I enjoy practicing self care through painting, dancing, singing, travelling, and binge watching TV shows with my husband & fur-baby, Maddy.
