As a Somatic Therapist and Intuitive Eating Counselor, I blend talk therapy with body-based techniques to help people rediscover their innate wisdom and hunger for life. Instead of getting caught in a spiral of prescriptive “shoulds” as related to eating, exercise, perfectionism, anxiety or depression, my holistic approach allows you to slowly become more aware of your unique bodily rhythms, relational needs, gut instincts and deeper hungers from the inside-out. I love helping people reconnect with their body-mind-spirit from a trauma-informed, depth-oriented, expressive arts, and all-bodies-welcome approach. With a great appreciation for the body’s wisdom, early developmental imprinting and expanding one’s intuition, I draw upon nervous system science, attachment theory and trauma-informed somatic therapy to help clients feel supported and empowered in their bodies and lives. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we move and make art, sometimes we explore developmental shapes or movement patterns, and sometimes we do all three. You set the pace.

At Best Within You, our group specializes in seeing a wide variety of concerns and working with a diverse group of students. We also hold a specialty with eating disorders and body image work and also have registered dietitians on staff. Many of our staff have trained within college counseling centers across various states. Our clinicians take a variety of different approaches to understand your concerns and build a therapeutic relationship that is unique to you. We also take care to understand your concerns within your unique cultural context, identities, and systemic factors that may be impacting your life. Our team is skilled in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and exposure and response prevention (ERP) among other modalities. Our approach is solution-focused, and we practice from a trauma-informed approach. Intown Psychology is a self-pay practice. The range is between $150–$250. We do not take insurance at this time. However, we can always provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider, which typically goes toward your out-of-network deductible.

I have a particular specialization in working with athletes of all levels; professional, collegiate, and recreational. As a former collegiate volleyball and softball player, I understand that athletic performance incorporates so much more than physical training. I work with athletes who are struggling with anxiety, confidence, focus, or team dynamics. Additionally, I see athletes after they have experienced some major event in their athletic lives; such as acute and chronic injuries, pain, illness, or physical changes with aging. Athletes also struggle frequently with eating concerns and body image. Therapy is teamwork--we will develop a plan and goals that work for you to live your healthiest life!

Skills can be important in navigating hardships. I have training in CBT, DBT and EMDR. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have a passion for utilizing skills to help clients manage/reduce symptoms of depression/anxiety.
