Hello! I am Dr. Ashleigh Woods. I enjoy providing effective, quality mental health care to individuals and their families. The foundation of my practice rests on building meaningful connections with patients by valuing each person's unique experiences and goals. In therapy, I work with my patients to create an open and nonjudgmental space for them to explore their concerns. I am confident I can help you find your possibilities within life's limitations. I hope you take some time to read more about the services I offer. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. NOTE: Please see my website for rates. I received my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2011. I have trained and practiced in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, university counseling centers, inpatient settings, residential/intensive outpatient treatment settings, and community mental health. I serve as President for the Indiana Society for Psychoanalytic Thought (ISPT), local Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) of APA. I also serve as Practice Committee Chair and Board Member for the Indiana Psychological Association's (IPA) Practice Committee. I teach in Christian Theological Seminary's M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

At Helix Health Group we believe creating an environment of health and wellness begins with an open empathetic therapeutic relationship. A place where people feel safe to explore their family/relationship dynamics, unresolved traumas, and coping mechanisms. Through this exploration we will discover in what ways these impact your life. All the while, working together to identify your individual strengths and how we can adapt these to empower growth. We will establish an individual treatment plan that may include medications, complementary and alternative wellness interventions, and/or psychotherapy. Our focus is building strong therapeutic alliances, facilitating personal & professional growth, and treating all mental health conditions including addictions with modern medical interventions and psychotherapy. We are passionate about mental health and helping others appreciate their individual strengths.

I work best with students seeking to understand the deeper sources of their issues. Many students experience anxiety and depression especially when first entering college. This can be very difficult and disruptive personally, socially and academically. Often there are feelings of deep sadness, uncertainty, fear, loneliness, shame and anger. There is a way through this difficult time and I would be very interested to work it through with you.

Do you ever feel like your brain runs on a completely different wavelength — or that the world just wasn’t built for the way you think and feel? Whether you or your child have ADHD, autism, or simply identify as neurodivergent, life can sometimes feel like an uphill climb. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m a licensed clinical social worker who truly gets it — both personally and professionally. I specialize in working with adults, teens, and children who are neurodivergent or wondering if they might be. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. Together, we’ll uncover how your brain works best, build tools that actually fit your life, and help you move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered. In our work together, we’ll set clear, meaningful goals and use straightforward, effective strategies to create real change. Working with me, you’ll learn how to work with your brain — not against it. If you’re ready to feel more confident, capable, and understood, I’d love to connect. Visit my website or reach out by text message or email to get started. You deserve support that feels like it finally fits. I work best with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or trying to make sense of a lot of emotions at once. You might be navigating big transitions, relationship stress, academic pressure, or feeling unsure about who you are or what comes next. Sometimes everything looks “fine” on the outside, but internally it feels heavy or hard to manage. The students I work with are often thoughtful and self-aware, but may feel stuck, overthinking, or emotionally drained. They’re looking for a space where they can slow down, understand what they’re feeling, and learn how to manage stress in a way that actually works for them. If you’re open to exploring your experiences, building emotional awareness, and finding more balance and clarity, we would likely be a good fit.

Have you experienced therapy in the past but maybe felt like the experience was too stuffy? Do you worry about judgement in the therapist’s office and find yourself filtering what you share? I know this reality is true for many people and my goal is to provide you with a new way of experiencing therapy. I have worked in all levels of care and I truly believe in a warm, holistic, and genuine approach to therapy. There is space for processing, crying, laughing, and anything else you need! I will utilize both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) throughout our work together to set a framework and present some level of psychoeducation. While the development of coping skills and understanding our thoughts and patterns to deal with distress and aid in emotion regulation will be important to our work together, my ultimate goal in therapy is to be flexible and holistic in my approach, working alongside you collaboratively to make powerful change towards the life that you envision. I honor that you are the expert of your own life, and as a therapist I am present to help process, empower, and seek joy. I understand college is one of the most stressful times in life, and having a trusted therapist to help during this transition can make the world of difference. I have been in your shoes and would love to be your partner in experiencing this difficult but rewarding and transformative time in life.
