My work is relationally based, and I additionally integrate the approaches of Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which are both mind/body modalities. These approaches have been transformational for myself and many clients I have witnessed because they offer an orientation of radical openness and compassionate inquiry about all parts of your experience.

It takes courage to explore different healing pathways. I am glad you are exploring options that are supportive to you. I strongly believe we all deserve healing and safe spaces. I believe we can collaborate and create this space for you. My therapeutic approach can be described by the words from R. Dass: “We are all just walking each other home” in our journey towards wholeness. I understand my role as a clinical social worker is to accompany individuals in their own inner healing and discovery of their own resiliency. I am committed to a trauma-informed and anti-oppression practice. My therapeutic practice embodies caring for the whole person (mind-body-spirit). I have a specialized interest in integrating individuals’ deepest spiritual or cultural practices and engaging in nature based healing. It is a privilege and gift to co-create healing spaces together. Since I have had ten years experience in a hospital setting, I can offer specialized treatments in traumatic stress and vicarious trauma on care providers. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based Practice. It can be challenging to find a therapist that is a good fit. If you think we may be a good fit, then please feel free to reach out so we can schedule a brief initial phone consultation to discuss goals and hopes.

Although the road to wellness is not linear, there is hope, and change is possible. Depression and anxiety, worry, stress, and feeling overwhelmed- these are all familiar concerns and normal in the human experience. We've all experienced it. Sometimes they can be difficult to manage and that's when talk therapy can be incredibly useful. But most important: I'm glad you're here. Let's build a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Life is hard. Although I am not a specialist in Life itself, there are ways to balance and recalibrate ourselves with therapy tools. These tools have helped me and others I've served in the past. As an Asian American, LGBTQ+ identifying therapist, my experience may offer a unique perspective that helps you feel connected and heard. I offer a straightforward style with authenticity and real connection. Although this may be intimidating for clients who are new to therapy, it is a bridge that when crossed clients find satisfying and rewarding. The first step to reaching out and connecting is by call or email, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Starting college can be an exciting time, opening so many new doors in terms of defining one’s identity and sense of purpose in life, as well as establishing a network of meaningful friendships. It however also involves letting go of one’s reliance on family and friends and engaging many new options which can be quite overwhelming. So many students start to experience anxiety or depression and begin to struggle with relationship or career concerns. I really enjoy working with college students during this complicated but promising period of their life, and helping them navigate the pitfalls and create an enriching experience for themselves. My name is Kristina and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker located in the Greater Boston area. My approach is to be authentic, non-traditional and meet clients where they are in their journey. I am specially skilled in a harm reduction framework and provide therapy without judgement. I also use an equity-focused lens and bring social justice into my whole-person approach. My flow is to allow the client to drive the sessions and encourage them to come with whatever version of themselves that they see fit. I have several years of experience working as a therapist in a community health center, working on an addiction team, primary care teams and providing group therapy. My group work experience has been running creative coping (art-based skills) groups, women’s groups and addiction/recovery groups. Most of my clinical work has consisted working with those with a history of chronic homelessness, individuals with prolonged institutional care histories, poly-substance use and severe mental health complexities. These experiences have led me to believe that therapy needs to be decolonized and more authentic to the client and therapist. If you think this ideology is a good match for you, feel free to reach out to inquire about services.
I work with clients that are ready to address issues in relationships by addressing the thoughts and behaviors that play a role. Initial sessions look at patterns that impact communication, intimacy, and connection with self and others. We strive to lead with more of who you actually are and less of who you think you "should" be. I work with people who are ready to go deep — not just to feel better, but to understand themselves in a more integrated and compassionate way. Many of my clients are independent, driven, and thoughtful — and they’re longing for a space where they can be vulnerable without performing, fixing, or figuring it all out right away. This work isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about becoming more you. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that shaped you, the parts of you that have been trying to protect you, and the deeper truths that are ready to be heard. I hold space for both your personal healing and the ways larger systems affect your I know that finding a therapist that is the "right fit" is most important and would be honored to begin exploring this possibility with you. I am dedicated to offering affirming care and am continually working to provide an LGBTQ+ informed space.
