Mental Health. Care. Together. Are you looking to find a mental health provider that listens to you in a way that makes you feel seen? Who helps you unravel the mystery behind your concerns you've never been able to verbalize? Who hears what you say to reflect a treatment and create a space for you to heal, feel safe, and grow into the person you’ve always wished to be? Who sees your lived experience as invaluable as their own, but also brings their domestically and internationally recognized expertise and insight in mental health care? Who brings over a decade of combined counseling, research, and lived experience understanding the unique stressors of college and graduate school? If so, Solidarity Mental Health LLC is for you. My therapeutic treatments are adapted to each individual patient, as no two people are the same. I integrate my academic and mental health training from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and the University of Southern California, my mental health work globally including Boston, Peru, Japan, Switzerland, and the Kingdom of Lesotho, my experience as a first-generation immigrant, first in my family to go to college and graduate school, treating refugees throughout the U.S., and working, navigating, coping, and thriving in some of the most difficult academic environments in the world. What results are a balanced, person-centered and empathy driven treatment based on unique insights from a 16+ year mental health career treating a mosaic of individuals from 15+ countries globally and diverse urban and rural areas throughout the United States. I have unique insights on not only how you as a college or graduate student can survive and thrive in your current environment, but also how transition to your ideal next step and self after graduation. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner providing individual psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management to adults age 18+ in Massachusetts via telehealth, and offer a FREE 10-minute phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit for each other. Please fill out the consultation request to get started. I accept patients of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and backgrounds, and have expertise treating BIPOC communities. I am a LGBTQIA affirming provider. I currently act as Senior Clinical Lead, Mental Health for Project HOME and advisor to the American Psychological Association on BIPOC mental health. My approach to therapy is active, relational, and result-oriented, encouraging clients to take hold of their life and find the meaning life holds for them. I work with individuals, couples, and families to address concerns with relationships, identity, intimacy and sexuality, and spirituality, in addition to general psychological problems. I serve as Director of Cambridge Counseling Associates and have served as lecturer and clinical instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School for more than twenty years, in addition to serving on the Advisory Board of the Dr. Phil Show, where I have participated since its inception. Therapy opens the door to a rewarding process for personal freedom, growth, and fulfillment by understanding and changing patterns and routines that may have made you feel stuck, unproductive, and unhappy. My goal is to help you experience your true self to fully engage your life. (See drchirban.com or cambridgecounseling.com) My specializations include relationships, sexuality, and spirituality. I also assist individuals and families working through divorce and serve as a Guardian ad litem for the State of Massachusetts. I have written several books in psychology and religion and write two weekly blogs for Psychology Today on parenting and spirituality.

My practice has always been focused on serving the BGLTQ+ Community, especially trans & gender diverse people, and polyamorous people. I tend to see a lot of geeky and neurodivergent people. My work as a therapist is informed by early training in both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders and depression, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My approach draws from the applications of mindfulness and self-compassion in psychotherapy, as well as feminist approaches such as Relational-Cultural therapy. Ultimately, I believe it is the relationship that heals, as well as learning to be a kind friend to oneself. I believe that good mental health means knowing you have choices and making them consciously (not which choices you make). (Please note if contacting me: it will save time if you include your insurance company and whether HMO or PPO.)

Hi! Welcome to my practice. My name is Wendy Emory, LICSW. You are welcome to look at my profile on Psychology Today. Many clients come to me as they're feeling stuck and something isn't working for them, or alternatively, they're experiencing anxiety and overwhelm, perhaps related to transitions or trauma. Either way, I work to help people access what already exists within them, and help them feel better. I'm certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a body based oriented talk therapy used to help people heal from trauma and other relational injuries.

Inevitably, life presents difficulties, and can be challenging for many different reasons. Sometimes the things that bring people to therapy are very specific: perhaps a major life transition has become overwhelming, or certain patterns within a relationship are starting to take a toll. Pressures in some particular setting, whether it is at school, at work, or at home, may be feeling too difficult to navigate alone. Other times, people come to therapy a little less certain, feeling confused and unsure about where their life is headed, wanting something more. It’s not always easy to answer the question, “What brings you here?” People tend to doubt their inner strengths, and don’t quite realize how many resources they in fact possess. I have found that, though conversation with a trusted person, people can more easily identify and then build on those strengths. In my work with children, we often talk about expanding their “toolbox,” so that they have the skills to better manage overwhelming emotions and navigate complicated social situations. With teenagers and young adults, we often find ourselves talking about questions of identity development - the process of learning about who we are, how we got there, and what we want for ourselves moving forward. I see growth and development as a lifetime process, and, in my work with adults, we address all these issues in increasingly varied and complex ways, while also working together to navigate complex challenges presented by a world that can be arbitrary and unfair. My past experiences, doing individual and family therapy with people of all ages, of diverse backgrounds, and difficult, sometimes traumatic histories and life circumstances, have engendered within me a core belief that with the right support and collaboration, it is possible to make meaningful and long-lasting changes.

It takes courage to explore different healing pathways. I am glad you are exploring options that are supportive to you. I strongly believe we all deserve healing and safe spaces. I believe we can collaborate and create this space for you. My therapeutic approach can be described by the words from R. Dass: “We are all just walking each other home” in our journey towards wholeness. I understand my role as a clinical social worker is to accompany individuals in their own inner healing and discovery of their own resiliency. I am committed to a trauma-informed and anti-oppression practice. My therapeutic practice embodies caring for the whole person (mind-body-spirit). I have a specialized interest in integrating individuals’ deepest spiritual or cultural practices and engaging in nature based healing. It is a privilege and gift to co-create healing spaces together. Since I have had ten years experience in a hospital setting, I can offer specialized treatments in traumatic stress and vicarious trauma on care providers. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based Practice. It can be challenging to find a therapist that is a good fit. If you think we may be a good fit, then please feel free to reach out so we can schedule a brief initial phone consultation to discuss goals and hopes.
