The fact that you're here says a lot about you. As a college student looking for a therapist, I can already tell you're brave and hardworking. I specialize in working with college students and young adults who are overcoming anxiety, work-life balance, and perfectionism. I help my clients process their past while still navigating today's challenges. I view myself as a partner, faithful friend, and guide helping you work toward a life consistent with who you want to become. Being in this stage of life is hard. You're constantly evaluated, compared, and criticized. It is my job to help unlock and build on your strengths while offering a helping hand when life feels overwhelming. I take a deep and multifaceted approach with my clients. I specialize in relationship issues, either your relationship with yourself, your partner, friends, or family. I also specialize in anxiety and perfectionism. Not only will we better understand the roots of your anxiety, but together we will practice coping strategies tailored to you. I also specialize in ADHD assessments, especially with unique presentations such as in adults and women. You're not alone in this. Reach out to set up a free 15 minute consultation where we can get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy or assessment.

I work with young women and LGBTQ+ folks with anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies. You set goals for yourself that aren’t reachable, and you feel like you’re failing, though from the outside it may look like you have it together. You know that the patterns in your life aren’t working, yet it’s hard to identify what to change and make those changes on your own. It’s a big step to even recognize that you might benefit from therapy. Therapy can help you make those changes so that you can relate differently to yourself, your loved ones, and the stress & loss in your life. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Together, we can untangle old narratives, identify the things that aren’t working in your life, and develop new coping methods that work for you. Therapy depends on us developing a safe relationship from which we can explore your feelings and concerns. In our therapy sessions, you can expect compassion as well as a focus on practical skills on how to relate differently to the stress and loss in your life. I prioritize developing a safe relationship between the two of us in therapy, from which we discuss your relationships with yourself and with others. My practice is antiracist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and HAES informed. I have immediate openings for teletherapy and in-person therapy. In addition to my regular hours (8am-5pm), I can offer evening appointments upon request. You can schedule a free 15-minute video consultation at my website, sierralarsontherapy.com.

I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, understood, and accepted—exactly as you are. You might find yourself feeling constantly anxious or on edge, caught up in worries that never seem to quiet down. Maybe you’re often hard on yourself, struggling with self-doubt or guilt, or noticing that it’s hard to feel joy or motivation the way you used to. When life starts to feel like this, it can be difficult to see a way forward or imagine things feeling different. My approach is person-centered, meaning our work is guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels most meaningful to you. I enjoy working with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and the lasting impact of complex trauma. In our work together, I may draw from compassion-focused and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you understand yourself better, and adjust the beliefs you hold about yourself, others, and the world. Through this process, we’ll work toward cultivating more enjoyment, confidence, and self-compassion in your everyday life.

When we meet, you can expect a very personable experience focused on you and your goals, some humor and references to various shows/songs/movies or the latest trend I am trying to understand to help remind you that you are not alone, and a space where nothing is ever too much, you will never be judged, and you can truly be authentically yourself.

We believe that you are the master of your own life, and we believe that therapy is a joint process that we can navigate together. We cannot "fix" you or tell you what you "should" do. The journey is yours. We can be a support, and provide a safe space. We can guide you in learning and using tools which will allow you to better manage your symptoms and create and maintain healthy boundaries with yourself and others. The tools you learn and develop while you are going through your therapeutic journey are meant to also allow you to improve your ability to self-soothe, create and maintain healthier boundaries in your relationships, make decisions more effectively, and to better support, assert, and advocate for yourself once therapy ends. You are capable. Our mission is to provide more accessible services to underserved clients, particularly in the LGBTQIA+ community, folx with neurodivergence, racial and ethnic minorities, and for other underserved populations who lack access to in-person services, or lack access to counselors competent in these areas due to living in areas that are smaller, more rural, or more conservative.
