Accepting NEW Clients. I’m a bisexual, cis Asian woman and first-gen college grad from a low-income family. As an immigrant, I know how heavy it can feel to carry so many layers of identity. I’ve had my own journey with mental health and trauma, and I bring that lived experience into my work with empathy and zero judgment. I’m LGBTQIA-affirming, sex-positive, and passionate about creating a space where you can show up fully as yourself. Art and drawing have been healing tools for me and I believe in the power of creativity to support growth and self-expression. I hold a trauma-informed perspective at the heart of my practice, approaching each individual with sensitivity to their unique stories and recognizing the strengths they bring to our therapeutic journey. I accept clients where they are and hold a nonjudgmental open minded, safe space for each person. As an alternative therapist, I am deeply committed to authenticity and utilizing my lived experience to emphasize that you are not alone. My primary focus is serving young and emerging adults, helping navigate life changes, stressors, hormones, and adjusting to adulthood.

I believe we don’t have to be defined by our past, but much of our past may be constraining us from who we can and want to be. You only know what you know, and allowing yourself the space, time, and freedom to redefine what that means for you can help you live a life you are meant, deserve, and worth living. I would be honored to be invited into that space with you.

I work at Restore Therapy Collective in Grand Rapids offering both in person and telehealth sessions. I work with kids, teens, and adults on ADHD, anxiety, autism, life transitions, school issues, relationships, and trauma. I am also dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence. Hello and welcome! My name is Elizabeth Falzon and I am a fully licensed therapist and the owner of Apricity Therapy Services in St. Clair Shores. A little bit about myself, I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2017 with my undergraduate degree in Social Work. In 2018 I graduated from Michigan State University with my masters in Social Work. I love my job and I love working with my clients. I particularly enjoy working with college age people. I have a lot of experience working with people diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Personally, I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 5th grade, which I feel gives me a unique perspective when working with this population. I'm trained multiple therapy interventions including DBT and PE. DBT stands for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and was a therapy originally designed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder, but has since been shown to be effective with many other diagnoses. PE stands for Prolonged Exposure Therapy. This is a therapy used to treat PTSD. I am also a trauma informed therapist. If you are at all interested in meeting with me I would love to schedule a free 15 minute over-the-phone consultation to see if we would be a good match for each other. The best way to contact me is through email. I offer both telehealth services and in-person services in St. Clair Shores.
We help people understand how trauma affects them as a whole person and work with them to reunify their thoughts, emotions, and body. We have advanced training that can offer symptom relief and a path out of feeling hopeless. The good news is that with time and focus, most people can become symptom-free and manage difficulties from a place of inner strength. Our counselors have advanced training on how the brain and body respond to and hold onto the effects of trauma. Our team understands how trauma can have a lasting impact on people’s perspective, relationships, life story, daily functioning and how its effects can lead to feelings of extreme depression and anxiety as well as being misunderstood by others.
Welcome! Starting counseling is not easy and by coming here you have taken an important first step. This is meant to be a safe and non-judgmental space. I am a licensed master social worker with a wide variety of life experiences which have given me the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I am continually working to expand my therapeutic knowledge and skills in order to offer clients the right treatment for individual needs. That said I do embrace aspects of “positive psychology”. I like to accentuate what is right with you and not focus only on what is “wrong” with you. I have specialized training in Infant Mental Health, several behavioral therapies (DBT, CBT, ACT, MBCT), Child Parent Psychotherapy, and trauma informed therapies. I lean towards the so called “third wave” cognitive behavioral therapies which include concepts such as acceptance and mindfulness. I have experience treating people with a range of challenges including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, grief and loss, PTSD and trauma. I believe that everyone has the capacity to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Sometimes we face challenges and barriers which may seem overwhelming. Therapy can help identify the source of these challenges and how to overcome them. Currently I work with adults and couples, and accept most major insurances.
