Therapists for college students near University of Minnesota
Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.

You may often second guess yourself, judge yourself and/or over think every interaction or choice you make lately. Maybe your friends or family have pointed out that you seem off or maybe you’ve been hiding it. There’s no shame in getting support so you can return to yourself and move forward in a way that more aligns with who you want to be. Working with me comes with ease and emotional safety. I provide online therapy for adults who reside in the state of MN and offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

Her approach combines play therapy, art therapy, trauma-informed, and person-centered care within a holistic framework. Most of the students I work with are figuring out who they are while juggling school, family, friendships, and their future. Many feel the weight of being “the strong one” for everyone else, but behind closed doors they’re tired, anxious, or questioning if they’re enough. Some are navigating being away from home for the first time, carrying family expectations, or balancing the pressure to succeed with the need to just breathe. Others feel out of place on campus and want a space where they don’t have to explain themselves or code-switch. I connect best with young people under 25 who are ready for honest conversations, who value a therapist that will both listen deeply and challenge them to grow. My goal is to give you room to unpack your story, understand your emotions, and figure out how to move through stress, relationships, and identity with more clarity and confidence.
My goal as your therapist is to provide the best service I can through a personally tailored approach. I’ve had the privilege of working with people ages 3 to 105. I have helped people navigate the various stages of life to improve their overall mental health. I am a strong believer in meeting those I serve where they are. Whether you are experiencing loss, crisis, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, a life transition, parent-child challenges, family conflict, or need a sounding board, I am here to be a support. I am licensed psychotherapist in New York, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Utah, and Ohio. I am also a Certified Wellness Counselor. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years. I have helped adults, children, couples, teens, older adults, and families navigating difficult situations, improve relationships, and thrive. I utilize a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, narrative therapy, stress management, family therapy, couples therapy, mood management, anxiety reduction, empowerment techniques, and work/life balance interventions. Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better outcomes. Thriving instead of just surviving. It is an honor to be a support to you.

Embodied Journeys is an independent, private therapy practice in Bellingham, WA serving clients throughout Washington, Minnesota, and British Columbia. We help folks work through the stress and rigors of daily life, including the heavy demands of college, that might kick up unhealthy habits like erratic sleep, problematic eating, binge drinking, and procrastination. We work from a feminist, anti-capitalist, anti-diet, and social justice perspective that includes lots of self-compassion. Bottom line: We trust your internal wisdom and believe you deserve to live fully without exhaustion, shame, guilt, and resentment.
As a queer therapist, I believe there is no one “right way” to live our lives. This is the same for therapy, there is no “right way.” I believe we all have the power to harness our strengths and find the path that gives us the most meaning and purpose. Clients are the experts in their own lives – each person has the tools and skills to solve their problems, though sometimes may need some outside help to find those tools and learn those skills. Together we can create a therapeutic alliance that is conducive towards self-discovery, growth, and fulfilling your potential while honoring your history, resiliency, values, and beliefs. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. I am working towards being a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, gender diverse, the consensual non-monogamy (CNM) community, and I am kink/BDSM-affirming.
Are you looking for someone to connect to who will listen, empathize, and provide non-judgmental feedback? Are you someone who struggles with emotional expression, anger, and thinks therapy is "not for you"? Are you adjusting to college life and need a bit of support through the transition? I can help. I am a compassionate, genuine, non-judgmental therapist. I focus on creating a safe space in which each individual feels heard and understood while promoting awareness, growth, and change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles as well as have specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a trauma-based therapy approach. It can be so intimidating to take the first step of reaching out to a therapist for support. I get it, I've been there myself, and trust me, it's worth it. When you contact me, I promise to provide a warm and professional consultation to help you decide if I can meet your needs and if we would be a good fit to work together.
I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education at IU Bloomington. I am originally from Taiwan and have enjoyed working with college students in both English and Madarin. I currently accept Aetna and United Healthcare plans, and I am working on accepting Anthem Medicaid, CareSource Medicaid, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield. I offer sliding scales. I am certified in EMDR therapy through EMDRIA (EMDR International Association). I continue to take advanced trainings, seek consultation and attend study groups after being certified. I am passionate about helping people feel better and live the life they want. I have worked with a variety of conditions such as college student issues, trauma/PTSD, complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, life transitions and grief/loss. I use evidence-based approaches to help each individual meet their unique therapy goals. The services I offer are culturally sensitive and neurodivergence-affirming. I enjoy working with anyone that wants to improve their mental health while valuing equity and diversity.
Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially if you're used to handling things on your own. I want to set a tone that feels genuine, relaxed, and goal oriented where we develop real solutions to your real problems. I have experience working with adolescents and adults facing stress, relationship problems, anger, and major life changes. I work especially well with someone who may feel stuck, isolated, overwhelmed, or perhaps even unsure where to begin? Therapy with me is focused on helping you move forward.
Are you a college or graduate student who feels like you’re constantly trying to keep up? Maybe you’re overwhelmed by school, work, relationships, and everything else you’re expected to figure out. Even when you’re doing well, you still feel like you’re not doing enough. You may be dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, low self-esteem, or the pressure to have your future figured out. I specialize in working with college students, graduate students, and young adults navigating these challenges. I understand that being a student isn’t just about academics. You’re also figuring out who you are, what you want, how to manage relationships, and how to build a life that feels meaningful all while dealing with the pressure to succeed. My goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more confident in your ability to handle whatever comes next. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck and develop practical skills to manage anxiety, cope with stress, and improve self-confidence. We’ll use evidence-based approaches including CBT and DBT, while tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals. I take a warm, collaborative approach to therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start, and you don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough” to reach out. Whether you’re struggling to keep up with school, feeling burned out, questioning yourself, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a space to slow down, understand what’s happening, and figure out what you want your next chapter to look like. If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment while also giving you practical tools you can actually use, I’d love to connect. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.
Does This Sound Like You? You’re burned out from trying to do everything right. You’ve been called "too sensitive" or "too much". You’ve got big dreams but get overwhelmed or stuck. You say yes when you want to say no. You do all the “right” things and still feel exhausted and stuck. You crave rest, clarity, and space to just be. Let’s Change That Together, we’ll quiet the noise, ease the anxiety, and help you start showing up for yourself. Less guilt. More peace. A life that actually feels like yours.

I’m a Clinical Psychologist who works with a large number of students and early career professionals navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, and identity-related questions. I believe that therapy is a collaborative and creative process that unfolds through developing a strong alliance with a therapist. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgemental space for people to name, feel, and share their unique experiences. Although it can be difficult to put your emotional life into words, the decision to do so has the power to open up new ways of knowing and understanding yourself. It can also reveal patterns in your life that you might wish to explore in order to create space for more meaningful and satisfying possibilities. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation, please feel free to reach out.
Do you find yourself struggling with intrusive, unwanted or “sticky” thoughts? Maybe your mind is constantly jumping to the worst case scenario, gets caught up in endless “what ifs,” or convinces you that you need to be 100% sure about something before you move on. You may have tried managing your anxiety or thoughts by avoiding certain people, places, or situations, reassuring yourself, mentally reviewing or rehearsing conversations, cleaning, saying a prayer, thinking a good thought to neutralize a bad thought, etc. You don't want to spend so much time engaging in these behaviors, but you feel like you can't stop — like you have to do them to stop something bad from happening, or to feel better. The relief you get from these behaviors is temporary, because the thoughts and feelings always come back, making you feel even more frustrated and hopeless. Over time you’ve noticed your world has started to shrink, and things have become difficult to manage. You struggle with paying attention in class, getting assignments in on time, procrastination, spending time with friends, or making decisions. You feel trapped, alone, and scared. If any of this resonates with you, I'm here to tell you that these experiences are common for those living with OCD and anxiety. The good news is that your life doesn't have to stay this way. With the right treatment, it’s possible to break free of OCD and anxiety and get back to the things that matter most to us. If you are interested in taking the next step please text, call, email, or fill out a form on my website to schedule a free 15 min consultation.
Hey! My name is Elena, I use she/her pronouns, and I work with rebels, rioters, and revolutionaries. My practice is one that centers and celebrates authenticity, courageous exploration, and a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. In practice, this can look like taking the time to build trust and connection, pulling from a wide variety of modalities, and curiosity and silliness when needed (which I believe is often!) I have seen many therapists feel the need to rush into “fixing”; in my work, there is no rush and there is no “fixing”. Together, we will sit in the messy experience of being human; exploring and learning from our pain while uplifting and celebrating the joys. We will co-create your therapy experience, making it into whatever you need it to be in order to feel as safe as possible. I bring an anti-oppression and decolonization lens to the work of therapy, as this helps to ensure that I do my best to mitigate the harmful impacts of these systemic issues in the healing space. I will certainly make mistakes. I hope you do, too! These are opportunities for both of us to practice collective learning, unlearning, and healing. I believe that therapy is community. We may share certain identities and there will be those we do not share, yet it remains a community. Let's be in joyous community together!
