Hello! So glad you are taking the steps to explore personal growth through counseling. If you’re having thoughts of self-harm or struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and distressing symptoms as a result of trauma, help is available. Burnout, stress, and other mental health challenges don’t have to consume your life. You can find relief through therapy that increases your sense of self-worth and helps you accept your circumstances while also guiding you toward inner peace. You’ll learn coping skills to sit with uncomfortable feelings and reduce trauma symptoms. My holistic approach to therapy will help you increase resiliency, self-acceptance, and authentic engagement with others.
I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed clinical addictions specialist and certified clinical supervisor who works with individuals and families in order to resolve issues such as: depression, anxiety, trauma, grieving, women’s struggles, gender identity, addictive issues and life transitions. I also provide supervision to clinicians seeking licensure. It takes a lot of courage to reach out to a therapist for assistance. The therapeutic relationship is of upmost importance to support therapeutic gains. If we find that I am not a good fit for your needs then I will refer you to someone who might be a better fit. I use a wide variety of modalities, to include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, experiential therapy, solution focused therapy, brief therapies and EMDR. We will examine the issues that are causing difficulty for you and address the continuum of coping skills that may be helpful to your situation. I have worked for over 20 years in mental health and substance abuse services. My goal is to assist the people I serve to live more fulfilling lives. I am a provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medcost, Aetna, Cigna, Coventry and most major insurance companies. I have specialized in working with college and university undergraduate and graduate students since my graduate training and I have worked in six different college and university counseling centers. I have innate knowledge about the experiences that are relevant to college and undergraduate students and it is my mission to provide support in helping navigate the journey during this integral time of development. I have experience supporting students through general academic stress and concerns as well as compounding stressors relevant to diversity, culture and identity. Finally, I understand the intersection that other factors have during the college and university experience (i.e., family, friend and romantic relationship building and conflict, social injustice, financial stress, career uncertainty, etc.)
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), I specialize in providing highly tailored therapeutic support and executive functioning coaching exclusively to college students at Indiana University and around the country. I understand that guiding a young adult through the collegiate transition from afar can be incredibly stressful for families. My practice is deliberately structured to help students build resilience, while providing out-of-town parents with comprehensive advisory support and absolute peace of mind. Whether your student is navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, or a deficit in motivation and executive functioning, my goal is to deliver proactive, highly structured intervention. Through our bespoke consulting packages, we ensure students thrive both academically and personally, without falling through the cracks of large university systems. Specialized Therapeutic & Executive Function Support I provide focused, high-touch support tailored to the unique academic and personal demands of the college years, including: Executive Functioning & Motivation: Installing robust weekly schedules, study rules, and workflows to combat paralysis and build self-driven habits. Targeted Mental Health Care: Private therapeutic support for college-specific challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use. Academic Monitoring: Ongoing oversight, accountability check-ins, and early-warning risk detection to catch issues before they escalate into academic crises. Parent Advisory & Coaching: Direct guidance on establishing healthy boundaries, utilizing our Parent Oversight Framework, and navigating complex family dynamics. Why Families Choose Our Practice Bespoke Support Tiers: From targeted Individual Counseling, theSemester Launch setups or my 12-month Semester Concierge engagements, we provide the exact level of intervention your family requires. Executive-Level Advisory: We act as a "family office" for your students well-being, providing parents with regular status briefs and clear guidance on what to monitor versus what to ignore. Proactive Risk Containment: We do not wait for a crisis. We install systems, monitor academic progress, and coordinate a proactive strategy to ensure consistency and long-term independence. Recognized Authority: As the author of The Insiders Guide to Parenting and The Insider's Guide to College, and host of The Better Semester podcast, my frameworks are grounded in nearly 25 years of specialized clinical experience. Background & Expertise With a Master's degree in Community Counseling and extensive clinical training, I have dedicated my career to collegiate mental health. My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic practices with strategic, high-level advisory. I partner closely with families globally to reduce friction, establish clarity, and create a master plan for their young adult's success. To explore our consulting tiers and find the level of intervention that matches your family's needs, please contact our office directly to schedule a private consultation.

Hi, I’m Dr. Lauren Chase, founder of Climbing Hills Counseling. I help high-achieving women boost their self-esteem, overcome anxiety and self-doubt, and unlock their full potential. Come sit down on your favorite chair, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s talk about the pressure you’ve been carrying, including the constant juggling of work, parenting, relationships, and everything in between. Balancing multiple roles and responsibilities can be so exhausting! Whether you're joining between meetings or during naptime, we’ll work together to quiet the self-doubt and ease the anxiety. Let’s help you feel more like yourself again. As a fellow beautifully anxious person, I understand what it’s like to live in constant survival mode, always anticipating the next challenge and struggling to enjoy your achievements because it’s hard to feel “good enough.” Let’s work together to quiet that anxiety, stop the people-pleasing, and silence that bully in your head telling you that you’re just not “enough.” You can overcome your challenges and reconnect with your true self. Sometimes, though, we all need a little guidance and a push up the hill to get there. By understanding the “how” and “why” behind our behaviors, we can become brave enough to break free from old patterns and start creating a life that feels more aligned, fulfilling, and authentic. I believe therapy should feel approachable, empowering, and rooted in authenticity. Come as you are, messy, tired, driven, unsure. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll create a space where you’re fully seen and supported while you work toward the goals you’ve carried for too long.
My name is Jessie and I have been working with children, teens, and adults in goal-directed, individual therapy for over 10 years. I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, and trauma and I have been trained in TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy). I utilize many modalities in my treatment but have most experience with mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and goal-directed/solution-focused therapy. I happily incorporate different approaches in my therapy style to best support you. I enjoy helping individuals change their cognitions to function in a healthier way. I balance listening, understanding, and questioning to help you find your best solution. I utilize education to help the client gain insight about potential changes to improve daily life, relationships, emotional control, and (most importantly): happiness. I am open to feedback and believe that therapy is client directed. My preference is for continual goal evaluation to measure successes and define challenges. I provide a safe and understanding place for clients to explore and express themselves. I look forward to helping you define and achieve your goals.

College is a major life transition. It is a particularly vulnerable time, with immense changes and pressures from family, peers, school, work, and society in general. Sometimes it may be hard to recognize that you need help because anxiety, depression, grief can show up as low motivation, procrastination, social isolation, physical complaints, poor academics or relationship problems. It can be very overwhelming and lonely to have to figure it all out on your own. I understand how hard it can be to navigate so many demands from school, work, family, friendships and relationships. You do not have to do it alone. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to be yourself and talk about the intense emotions and experiences you are going through. I will work collaboratively with you to identify the roots of your struggles and ways to regain a sense of control and create a healthier more balanced life. I can teach you practical coping tools to address anxiety, depression, stress, uncertainty, procrastination, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, lack of motivation and time management. Our work can also include developing more effective communication skills, resolving identity crisis, setting healthy relationship boundaries and improving your personal relationships. Many students do not realize that part of their struggles could be related to having unresolved grief. I help students identify and move through the pain of grief, makes sense of their loss and rebuild their connections while honoring their loss. A big component of therapy for me is teaching my clients self-compassion and simple ways to self-care. My goal is to get to know you as an individual and your specific unmet needs, so I can best help you. Our therapeutic relationship is just as important as the work of therapy. My approach is empathic, direct and solution focused. I will provide interactive feedback and I will gently nudge you when there is opportunity for growth but I will not ever push you to talk about something you are not ready to talk about. You get to set the pace of therapy. I provide telehealth sessions in CA and NC. If you would like to learn more about how I can help you, please contact me to schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you.

Therapy provides a supportive space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and gain clarity and insight into your experiences. I offer compassionate, person-centered therapy for adults 18+ navigating a variety of issues. My work is tailored to each individual and may draw on mindfulness, skills-building, and exploration of your experiences to support you in whatever you are navigating.
