I have been in practice for over nine years and a social worker for over fifteen. I have specialized in the treatment of trauma and anxiety for women and children, as well as depression and mood disorders in men. In 2000, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Gerontological Studies. Upon graduation, I worked for nine years as a Director of Social Services within nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. I worked closely with hospice residents, assisting families in making decisions surrounding end of life care. In 2013, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work specializing in Substance Abuse Treatment from East Carolina University. Recently, I have worked with children and adolescents with childhood mental health disorders. I also work with adults providing individual, marital, and family counseling. I am also an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist who has experience in working with all gender identities across this spectrum. I have worked with individuals with various eating and body image issues and previously served as the Director of Adolescent Services for Eating Disorders at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. I also specialize in the treatment of anxiety and OCD. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is an individual therapy focused on understanding patterns, increasing flexibility in thinking, and changing behaviors. Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist and I provide both individual and family therapies.
