Therapy is not always easy. But that doesn't mean it is without joy. In therapy, we get to come to an appreciation of both joy and sorrow that are the consequences of living a fully human life. Through appropriate challenge and support, we are able to expand the range of our humanity and our participation in the world. My approach is grounded in brief psychodynamic models of treatment. I believe that therapy can help make us conscious of the adjustments we have made to cope with our life circumstances and can shine a light on new possibilities towards greater authenticity. I continually seek to improve my own utility as a therapist, and I read voraciously towards that end. My understanding of psychology, sociology, and social work provide not only a foundation for understanding client struggles, but also a basis from which to conceptualize growth and solutions.

You’re used to keeping it together, even when it’s hard. Maybe you're the overthinker, the perfectionist, the one who’s always there for everyone else. But lately, it’s been a lot: anxiety, life changes, big questions about who you are and where you’re headed. Therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and find tools that actually help. I work with teens and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, and life transitions. My style is warm, supportive, and grounded in trauma-informed CBT. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s going on beneath the surface and build skills to help you move forward. When you are ready to talk, call Gracefully Balanced Counseling at our office number or shoot me an email. We can schedule your free 15 minute consultation, where you can learn more about my approach and if we would make a good fit!
I have been practicing psychiatric medicine for over 14 years. I’m certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. It is a privilege for me to serve and help patients who are struggling with mental, emotional, behavioral disorders and addictions. Seeing my patients overcome adversity and become resilient is highly rewarding. My aim in treatment is to help you identify areas of strength and provide you with tools necessary to overcome obstacles caused by negative emotional states. Empowering you to make informed decisions about your care, meaningful lifestyle
As you prepare to address problem areas in your life, finding the right person to work with to help and support you as you move forward toward your goals, is the first step. My therapy practice focuses primarily on children, families and young adults. I believe that better communication and understanding can be key in building better relationships. Typical sessions involve the basics of support, and building on the existing strengths of a person as well as developing better techniques in managing difficult emotional problems. Psychoeducation, which involves helping to understand the mental health symptoms that are being presented and learning how to manage them, as well as skills to build deficits with anger control, social interactions and stress relief, are also taught. Working together on ways to decrease difficult symptoms, such as clients providing better self care skills, building strong coping skills and having improved perspectives is essential to a healthier well being. My role as your therapist is that through the supportive and close therapeutic relationship, you will gain insight and motivation to work toward change. I am currently licensed in NC, GA and am a Certified Telehealth Practitioner in Florida. I am only able to see clients virtually in FL and NC.

As a Licensed School Counselor and Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I know each of us face challenges, life transitions, and pain. The bulk of my work is dedicated to helping clients with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges. Additionally, I have a passion for working with clients who are academically gifted or twice exceptional! I work with clients to bring meaning and understanding to how their thoughts, beliefs and life experiences impact their actions and related outcomes. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Exposure Response Prevention principles and interventions to encourage insight and behavioral change. I know seeking therapy and finding a therapist is a risk that feels scary to many. My goal is to honor that bravery, hold space for anything you bring to the table, and help you move forward in a safe and comfortable environment.
I graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I had the great fortune to complete my field hours at UNC Psychiatry, where I offered therapy for conditions including depression, anxiety, disability, chronic pain, developmental delay, and addiction. Before I became a psychotherapist, I earned a Masters of Science in Education from Florida State University and taught in the public school system. Positive psychology is at the core of our practice, helping to elevate you beyond the neutral state and launch you into your ideal life. I specialize in helping you identify your emotions, recognize behavior patterns and the motivations behind them, then incorporating techniques to support behavior change that align with your values, carefully guiding you to become the person you strive to be.

Thank you for considering Sahas Counseling for your mental health needs and I look forward to working with you. I am currently offering in person and telehealth services to residents in NC, and telehealth only for SC residents. Everything you need to heal is already within you, and my work with you will help build motivation, awareness, confidence, and understanding that nurtures these strengths that exist, but are difficult to see when external and internal challenges are faced in life. Not everyone is the same and not one particular treatment model will be the best fit. Therefore, I will meet you where you are at on this journey towards healing, and provide quality of care that will be person centered and tailored to your specific needs. I have a BA in Psychology, Masters in Social Work, and have a 200-HR RYT certification. I have been working in the mental health field in both inpatient and outpatient settings over the past 16 years. I have participated in mental health and trauma sensitive yoga trainings to provide more than just talk therapy during sessions. I mostly have experience working with adults, older teens, Veterans, families, and couples. If you are a LCSW-A looking for clinical supervision, I can also help by providing the supervision hours necessary to be fully licensed and become the clinician you want to be. I know there is an end goal when entering therapy, but the journey to that goal is just as important. We will work together to make that path you desire to be on.

Cody is a North Carolina LCSWA at Lifescapes Counseling Associates, PLLC in Apex, NC. He works with adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s transitions, challenges, and opportunities for growth. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC Greensboro, his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Winston-Salem State University, and his Master of Social Work degree from UNC Charlotte. Before becoming a psychotherapist, Cody spent 10 years working as a pediatric occupational therapist in early intervention, school-based, and clinic-based settings. This experience gave him a unique understanding of the nervous system, development, behavior, and the ways our environments can influence our mental health. He brings this perspective into his work with college students, recognizing that mental health is influenced not only by what happens internally, but also by relationships, routines, expectations, and the environments in which we live and learn. Cody enjoys working with college students who may be navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent experiences, identity development, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, or the transition toward greater independence. He understands that college can be an exciting time of new experiences while also bringing pressure, uncertainty, and the challenge of figuring out who you are and what you want your life to look like. Cody grounds his work in a person-centered approach where clients are accepted, respected, and encouraged to be themselves. He uses a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused strategies to help clients better understand themselves, build practical skills, navigate challenges, and move toward their goals. He is honored to work with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, autistic individuals, and individuals with ADHD. Outside of the therapy room, Cody enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, being with his family, and recharging in quiet moments. Population Served: Adolescents, College Students, Adults, and Parents Specialty Areas: Anxiety and depression, OCD, ADHD and neurodivergence, autism, emotional regulation, life transitions, identity development, LGBTQIA+ community, relationship challenges, and adjustment to college and adulthood
