You can expect me to be a thought partner and an ally; I am here to help guide you through challenges, setbacks and exploration in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I will work with you to connect with yourself in order to reach the goals we set together, or to feel empowered to be curious about who you are and where you are. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my work is rooted in creating a therapeutic space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, the weight of trauma, cultural or racial identity concerns, life transitions, or relationship challenges, you don't have to face it alone. With a particular passion for supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, my practice is designed to be inclusive and affirming for all patients, and especially meaningful to those who haven't always felt centered in their care. Our work together is genuinely collaborative, because healing happens best when you're an active part of the process. Bridging that gap, together, is what I'm here for. From the moment we begin working together, you can expect a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to who you are. No two people carry the same experiences, backgrounds, or goals, and your care shouldn't look like anyone else's. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, my approach is integrative, person-centered, and always collaborative. My style is kind yet purposeful: together we'll work toward recognizing your needs and building the practical tools to meet them. Guiding you toward the support and strategies that help you thrive is what drives every session we share. My path to becoming a therapist began in research. Working as a research coordinator, I found myself consistently drawn to the deeper stories behind the data, and to the real concerns people in our studies were carrying with them. It became clear that being a therapist was the right fit, the place where I could do the most meaningful work. That background in research and community mental health shapes how I practice today. It gave me a unique lens for understanding how large-scale societal and structural forces ripple down and affect individuals in very personal ways, and a commitment to integrative, community-rooted care that I bring to every session. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me soaking up a Broadway show, getting lost in a good book, or somewhere out in the world on my next travel adventure. Water has always been a source of joy for me, whether that means snorkeling, diving, or simply swimming. Lately, I've been diving into new creative outlets as well, teaching myself embroidery and showing up to Pilates class regularly. They've become my favorite way to reset between sessions and return to the work feeling fully present for you.

I am an insight-oriented, person-centered, and sex-positive therapist who leads with curiosity. I see clients of all identities, and I specialize in the care and unique needs of queer, kinky, and nonmonogamous people, as well as those with a background in sex work. I am skilled in helping clients navigate issues related to gender identity, sexuality, alternative relationship structures, life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, and attachment ruptures. My work in general psychotherapy and sex therapy is trauma-informed and driven by principles of consent. I will meet you where you are on your journey in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. My practice is guided by values of anti-oppression, and I actively consider the impact of positionality and power dynamics throughout my life. I am a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, with a specialized certificate in Gender and Sexuality. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 12 years working in theatre; I integrate my experience working in artist care into my practice as a holistic-minded clinician. I see adult clients on an individual basis and in relationship structures of two or more. I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own experiences, and that my role as a therapist is to use my clinical presence to help us both understand you better. Our work together focuses on discovering patterns and connections, while utilizing our mutual insight. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Many of the students I work with seem like they have everything together on the outside, but internally feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are. You may be high-achieving, creative, or thoughtful, yet constantly overthinking, second-guessing yourself, struggling with perfectionism, or trying to meet expectations that never fully feel like enough. Over time, it can become exhausting to keep pushing through while quietly carrying stress, pressure, anxiety, or self-doubt on your own. In our work together, we slow things down and explore what’s driving that pressure beneath the surface. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with your own voice, values, identity, and sense of direction so life begins to feel more grounded, authentic, and emotionally sustainable — not something you constantly have to perform your way through.

My clients often come to me feeling stuck. Managing on the outside, but overwhelmed on the inside, whether that's from chronic pain and illness, a major life change, or the pressure of holding everything together. They rarely come looking for someone to tell them to think more positively. They've tried that. They come wanting a space to honestly reckon with what's changed, figure out what still matters, and start building something meaningful from where they actually are. For some, that's anxiety, self-criticism, or burnout. For others, it's rebuilding an identity after chronic pain, injury, or illness changed the life they planned. I work primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framework. The work is less about fixing what's wrong and more about learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, so you can move toward what actually matters, even when discomfort or old patterns show up. I'm a former collegiate athlete and Army Infantry Officer who came to this work after over a decade in corporate and healthcare leadership, including firsthand experience with chronic pain. That background shapes how I show up in the room, grounded, direct, and genuinely curious about what matters to you. Reach out and let's find out if we're a good fit.

Individuals who find Advika Anand, therapist and EMDR practitioner, are often feeling stuck—trapped in cycles of overthinking, stress, or sadness. Life may feel like sinking in quicksand, with thoughts and emotions pulling them deeper the more they struggle. Many notice recurring patterns—emotional, physical, or relational—that feel difficult to change, no matter how much effort they have made. Advika’s approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in both somatic and evidence-based practices. She works alongside clients to create a sense of safety, build self-awareness, and gently explore the root causes of distress at a pace that feels comfortable. Central to her process is recognizing the deep connection between mind and body. Drawing from EMDR therapy, relational psychotherapy, mindfulness, and DBT, Advika helps clients regulate emotions, heal from past experiences, and strengthen their relationships—with themselves and others. Her work often involves processing trauma, building emotional resilience, and developing practical skills for personal growth. Advika believes that healing is a two-step process: addressing sources of distress while also equipping clients with mental and emotional tools to thrive.

My name is Weston Clay and I am a psychotherapist based in NYC. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and identity and relationship issues. As a gay man myself, I enjoy working with other queer/LGBTQ+ people to work through the way our identities impacts our relationships with our peers, family members, and ourselves. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe with and seen by your therapist and so it is my job to make you feel comfortable with me, not yours. Anti-racism, body positivity, and all around inclusivity are also fundamental to my style of therapy.
