Hi, I’m Kayla Cunningham! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and for the past 10 years, I’ve been helping people work through life’s challenges and changes. College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming — juggling classes, friendships, family expectations, and figuring out what’s next isn’t always easy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever’s on your mind, without judgment. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, relationships, big transitions, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to meet you where you’re at and help you find tools and strategies that actually fit your life. I believe the relationship we build is one of the most important parts of counseling. I’ll take the time to get to know you, understand what you’re going through, and adjust my approach to what you need — because there’s no one “right” way to do this.

Together, we’ll explore what’s going on in your life, build tools to manage stress and emotions, and help you move toward the version of yourself and your life that feels most authentic and meaningful. I’m especially passionate about working with college students because I remember how complex and overwhelming that time can be. Hi! My name is Alyssa Ammerman, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York. I received my Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo in 2017 (GO BILLS!). I use an eclectic and person-centered approach to therapy. I have formal training in a variety of therapy modalities that I use at various times throughout the therapeutic relationship, with you as the guiding factor. I believe that each person’s experience is unique, and therapy should be a reflection of that. I enjoy working with individuals ages 18+ that are going through life transitions, dealing with anxiety, chronic illnesses, first responders, parents, and identify as a sex-positive, kink-friendly therapist.
I work with relationship issues and sexuality, certified as a Relationship Therapist through the Gottman Institute of Seattle. I am also certified as a Sex Therapist through AASECT, the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Several years ago I realized I am autistic and now I address issues experienced by people who are autistic/ Asperger's or those who wonder whether they may carry that diagnosis. I also see people with other forms of neurodivergence such as ADHD. Originally I am from Boston and grew up in a working class family with a commitment to political activism. I am licensed in NY and FL as well as Oregon and Washington State. Although I offer some reduced fee spots I am sorry to say they are consistently full.
