Therapists for college students near New York, NY
“The world is your oyster.” That was what my mom said as we held each other’s hands before I drove off to start my college life. Along with independence came feelings of insecurity that weighed down my motivation. But, with support, I found my way. We all need support sometimes. I’m glad you’re here to explore the benefits that clinical therapy might offer you. My name is Traci, and I am a second-year master of science student at the Columbia University School of Social Work in New York, specializing in Advanced Clinical Therapy. My eclectic professional and personal experiences will likely come in handy as you and I partner to do our best to move you closer to the peace, purpose, and fulfillment you deserve. I look forward to providing the space where you can feel safe. Traci Cecconello is a Therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with the therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours.

If you’re feeling anxious, stressed, or uncertain about your path, I’m here to help. I specialize in working with students like you who might be struggling with anxiety, motivation, procrastination, or relationship challenges. Whether you’re dealing with the stress of exams, navigating new relationships, or questioning your identity and future goals, we can work together to create a more balanced, fulfilling life. My approach is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental, focusing on practical strategies to help you overcome internal struggles and build the confidence you need to thrive both in college and beyond.
I am a psychotherapist (MHC-LP) at The Boundary in New York City, providing thoughtful, evidence-informed therapy for adults and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented, helping clients understand the patterns that shape their lives while building practical skills for stability, resilience, and meaningful change. I work especially well with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves, offering a steady space where they can think clearly, process deeply, and grow at their own pace. Students can expect a grounded, nonjudgmental environment where their experiences are validated and their goals supported.
I am passionate about working with college students 18 and older that are struggling with painful life experiences that affect their mental and physical health. I provide a safe, accepting environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in the process of healing and becoming the best versions of themselves. My clients are resilient- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time is exhausting, and it's okay to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving. My clients achieve a healthier relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.

Counseling starts with building connections with therapists who recognize the significance of language and culture. As a therapist, I rely on my knowledge of the Latina/o community to communicate with clients about mental health stigma, develop trust, and discuss resources available. I can provide therapy in English and Spanish for those who wish to conduct sessions fully in Spanish. In my therapy work, I take a nonjudgmental approach and allow you to be you. I specialize in helping clients navigate grief and loss, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, trauma, and major life transitions. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I adapt my approach to meet you where you are. Whether you’re holding deep sadness, feeling stuck in stress, or looking for new ways to cope, I’ll help you identify what’s working, build new tools, and move forward with more self-trust.

Is life feeling out of control? Are you struggling with significant life changes, relationship issues, grief, immigration and acculturation challenges, or in need of trauma processing? Maybe it’s time to talk with someone. You don’t have to face these challenges alone—I'm here to help and make it easier for you. As a first-generation Chinese American immigrant, I understand many of these struggles on a personal level, and so many of my clients find that connection valuable to open up to me. I am confident that with my experience and personalized approach, I can guide you toward a positive direction in life. My clients often express that they feel heard and safe during our sessions with my naturally warm and empathetic demeanor, but also challenge them at a capacity for growth. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pug, watching dramas, reading books, and staying in quiet places—all of which help me stay grounded and balanced. What do you do to feel grounded? It’s completely normal to feel uncertain about starting therapy, especially if it’s new to you or you don’t know me yet. I encourage you to book a consultation with me. I’d love to address your hesitations and support you on your journey toward a better life. I’m here for you, but I need you to take that first step so we can navigate this path together.

I am a humanistic and relational therapist that is passionate about the power of human connection and strongly values the healing properties of the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a warm and safe space where individuals can feel safe to explore difficult topics, believing that this is the first and most important step in the healing process. I recognize that the human experience is often deeply complex and painful, yet has the potential to be beautiful and fulfilling as well. My goal in working with people is to walk alongside them and help them to better understand themselves, gain insight, work through the more painful moments of the past, and discover their own capability to cope with and grow through life’s hardships. My approach to therapy is holistic, exploring the many components and intersecting areas of a person’s life. Additionally, I work to tailor each therapeutic experience to the individual, accounting for the unique needs of each person. I have experience working with trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, identity issues, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I love utilizing humor, creativity, and mindfulness in session, as I believe tapping into these elements can be incredibly healing.

As a counselor, I base my approach on my academic knowledge, and real world experience. I attended therapy as a young adolescent due to a loud home environment and being bullied by my peers. I learnt that therapy is a place to further strengthen personal boundaries and ways for practice self expression. Everything that I teach my clients focuses on increasing trust in oneself. Trust yourself to be supported by your environment and to make the best decision in any given moment. Trust that whatever happens, you will be okay.
If you were looking for a sign to try therapy, consider this that sign. Life feels hard, and everyone and everything feels overwhelming. You just want to feel better but don't even know where to begin. You don't have to figure it all out on your own. So let's talk. Even better, let's collaborate. I have a relaxed style based on science but led by empathy and humor. I commonly help clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions, or even just a case of the "blahs." Our work together will be as unique as you are to pinpoint and address your personal goals. I commonly I pull from evidence-based treatments including cognitive and psychodynamic therapies geared to target unhelpful thoughts, build up your coping skills or work through past and current patterns. During our sessions, you can expect to feel safe, seen, and fully embraced- just as you are. I look forward to connecting with you to learn how we can enhance your well-being, alleviate the stress and pain you may be experiencing and find your joy again.
