I am a therapist with 13 years experience who recently relocated to Maryland. I have specialized my work in the medical setting with those with chronic illnesses and have also cared for many in the LGBTQI+ community. I have had the privilege to witness the most vulnerable moments with my clients and then observe their growth, healing, and evolution. I would be honored to play a role in your journey too. The idea of therapy is challenging for some. I focus on meeting my clients at their comfort level and prioritize their personal goals and needs. I utilize evidence-based modalities: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Both of these examine the connections between thoughts, feelings and actions to help individuals make changes in their life. I also have training in: Emotional Freedom Technique, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems I believe that counseling should capitalize on the client’s creativity, imagination, and interests. Therefore, I often encourage artistic expression and the use of physical movement to address depressive symptoms, anxiety, and the challenges of grief and loss. Let’s work together to tailor an approach based upon your unique strengths and areas of need. I am only self-pay at this time. Knowing from an early age that I wanted to connect with people on a deeper level, a career in counseling became a must. I was born and grew up in Belgium and moved to the states as a pre-teen, which was a tough transition at times. I quickly discovered my love for connecting with others was no different on the other side of the world. This strengthened my belief that cultural background, race, sex, age, etc does not make a difference in our suffering but that there is hope for each one of us. I quickly discovered my love for connecting with others was no different on the other side of the world. This strengthened my belief that cultural background, race, sex, age, etc does not make a difference in our suffering but that there is hope for each one of us. It is my belief that the difficulties that we face stem from our inner dialogue and extreme responses in acknowledgment to triggering situations. It is my goal to help the client explore such thoughts and reactions by developing coping skills and new ways of thinking in order for the client to feel more at ease and happier in life. I previously had the privilege of leading groups for those suffering from alcohol and drug addiction, as well as emotional dysregulation issues, and have discovered an appreciation for walking through such a challenging time with the client. It is my hope to do the same for you.

Entering adulthood isn't quite like you expected it to be. Yeah, you get more freedom, but you also get the added responsibility of being "the" adult. You find yourself more anxious and experiencing these different emotions that leave you feeling burdened and overwhelmed. You've tried several ways to cope, but those only offered a temporary solution. And if we're honest, they weren't the healthiest ways to cope. As a marriage and family therapist- associate, I am skilled at helping individuals and couples live a healthy and more sustainable life. College years don't t have to be something that you heal from as an adult. I can help you find balance and healing now.
