College life should be an exciting and challenging time. Becoming more independent and living away from home is a significant life transition. Enjoying this newfound autonomy while adjusting to college life can bring about a whole range of challenges, such as alcohol/substance abuse, academic stress, relational stress, neurodivergent issues, identity development, anxiety, social isolation, depression, trauma and many others. As a former Texas University graduate, former counselor of college students, and a parent of a college graduate, I am familiar with many of the issues facing today's students and passionate about helping young adults navigate this important chapter of their lives.
Life can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to balance who you are, where you’re going, and everything in between. I offer a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what you’re carrying—whether that’s, anxiety, relationships, life transitions, or healing from trauma. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, supported, and connected to yourself. I offer in person sessions in Austin, TX & virtual therapy for individuals anywhere in Texas.
I offer a welcoming space for individuals, couples, and teens navigating anxiety, relationship stress and break-ups, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, sexual assault, perfectionism, high-achievers, and life transitions, including break-ups, marriage & new parenthood. Starting therapy takes courage, but you don't have to face life alone. My clients struggle to feel "good enough" in life & relationships or are overwhelmed trying to hold it all together. My passion is for those who seem "put together" on the outside but feel anxious, disconnected or stuck beneath, because I've been there. We'll develop tools to calm anxiety and overcome life's challenges so you can gain clarity, healing, & change. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, relationship stress & perfectionism and offer trauma-informed, compassionate therapy across Texas & California including in-person sessions in Austin, TX. I integrate CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, & mindfulness. I'm EMDR trained to support trauma. You’re the expert in your life; I’m here to offer perspective so you can feel more like yourself again. Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly a decade in the entertainment industry, so I understand the pressure to perform, achieve, & “keep it all together.” Being human is hard, and you're not alone. I offer in-person sessions in Austin, plus virtual therapy across Texas. Please reach out today for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit!
I'm Eloise and I help college students navigate the tough stuff. Whether it's stress from school, anxiety, identity exploration, relationships, or feeling stuck, you don't have to figure it all out alone. I create a space where you can vent, process and grow--without judgement. I get that college is a time of major transition and pressure. My style is collaborative, down-to-earth, and focused on what you need--whether that's coping strategies, deeper self-awareness, or just someone who really listens. Let's talk about what's going on, what's holding you back, and how we can get you feeling more like yourself.
Do you feel deeply, think a lot, and sometimes wish your brain had an “off” switch? Are you exploring your identity and looking for a space that affirms all of who you are—queer, neurodivergent, artistic, sensitive? Are you going through a big change—like starting college, coming out, or navigating independence—and feeling lost or unsure of your place in the world? Are you drawn to self-growth, even when it feels overwhelming or hard to quiet your inner critic? My practice may be a good fit for you if you're looking to explore these questions. I’ve worked with many individuals to develop therapeutic goals and take meaningful steps toward achieving them. Past clients have reported experiencing less anxiety and depression, developing effective ways to manage and cope with their emotions, and feeling a deeper connection to themselves and others.
I work with clients who may be struggling with unresolved trauma, anxiety, depression and OCD. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. I have worked at hospitals, Intensive Outpatient Programs and private practice as a psychotherapist, clinical social worker and clinical supervisor. I have a relational approach and incorporate trauma and anxiety focused therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Additionally, I have a Postgraduate Certificate Program in Psychoanalytic Social Work Practice from UT Austin. I am also a board approved supervisor for clinical social workers working towards becoming fully licensed LCSWs. I strive to create a safe, supportive and empowering therapeutic space and work with clients collaboratively to help you to heal and grow.
Hi, I'm an LPC-Associate at Alive Austin. I work well with college students experiencing stressors and stages commonly faced during this period: life transitions, depression, anxiety, relational concerns, family conflict, or unprocessed childhood trauma. Many of my clients may struggle with boundaries, people pleasing, and navigating their new roles and responsibilities living on their own for the first time. Many people I see have also put off working though painful or significant experiences from their past that are still impacting them presently. I aim to help you build self-awareness, discard what is no longer serving you, and start finding fulfillment in life. I am currently unable to accept insurance as an LPC-Associate in Texas. I try to accommodate to students' needs by offering sliding scales. I also offer free consultations so there is not initial cost until you feel we're a good fit.
**Some Insurance Accepted in NC through Headway** I practice via telehealth in NY, NC, WA, and TX. I specialize in working with adult men and women who are secretly miserable. You may look fine on the outside, but inside you're struggling to get your own needs met, codependency, perfectionism, and shame. Gestalt Therapy goes beyond looking at just the cognitive, linear perspectives of the person. It demands of the therapist an awareness of the body and how it manifests in the psyche. Through its focus on process rather than content, the patient gains an experiential awareness of how they do what they do and new choices emerge spontaneously. The radical focus on process in the creative therapy of Gestalt keeps the work alive and full of possibility for both the patient and my work as a therapist. Melissa Bennett-Heinz obtained her master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University (Class of 2002) and is a graduate of Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York City, NY. In addition to her background in Gestalt Therapy, she obtained her bachelor's and master’s degrees from the esteemed conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, in New York City where she majored in Oboe Performance. Melissa completed cognitive behavioral studies under the tutelage of Dr. William Sanderson. She is a licensed clinical social worker in NY, WA, NC, and TX and has over twenty years of specialized training and experience in PTSD, childhood abuse, mood and anxiety disorders. Melissa brings her background as a classical musician and deep spirituality together in her unique approach in Gestalt's creative and experiential therapy.

Hi, I’m Marie, and I’m so glad you found me. I’m here for the ones who’ve always felt a little different, a little out of place, the "oddballs" who don’t see themselves reflected in the world around them. Life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, and I’m not going to pretend it is. But just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you’re powerless. My goal is to help you find your power- not by ignoring the darkness, but by showing you that you can still grow despite it. I want to help you believe in the possibility of happiness again, even if you’re not sure what that looks like right now. I’ve dedicated many years to learning how to support mental health, but the heart of my work is making you feel safe, seen and validated. I specialize in trauma and life transitions like finishing high school and starting college, changing careers, moving (to or around Texas), getting divorced, exploring gender identity, or navigating a breakup. If you’re feeling stuck, broken, or like you’ll never feel normal again, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be "normal" to feel whole. Together, we’ll navigate the mess and the pain, in a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or shrink to fit someone else’s idea of “okay.” If that sounds like what you're looking for, please reach out.
Life can feel overwhelming—especially when anxiety, depression, or hopelessness take over. Therapy offers a space to reclaim your sense of self, find clarity, and begin the journey toward healing. You are allowed to take up space! You are strong and resilient. You can live a life that is fulfilling, and you deserve to know that you have value. You deserve to have hope for the future and to feel empowered about who you are. You are the expert of your own life—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex trauma, including experiences rooted in childhood, family, and relationships. I also work with clients experiencing issues related to LGBTQIA+ (such as stress, acceptance or identity), self-esteem, attachment, anxiety, and depression. I am trained in Trauma Focused CBT and utilize approaches from Narrative Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that healing is possible. Together, we can unlearn harmful patterns, heal from past wounds, and build tools for resilience and self-acceptance.
Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself or others, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or unsure how to navigate significant societal changes? Do you feel overwhelmed by the pressure to hold it all together, to keep showing up for others while putting your own needs on the back burner? Do you wonder if it’s possible to feel more grounded, connected, and alive? Right now, LGBTQIA2S+ folks and highly sensitive people are feeling exhausted and uncertain about how to move through life with authenticity and connection to our values, especially in a world that doesn’t always make space for who we are. With gentleness, compassion, and intention, I provide a space to reconnect with your most authentic self. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and intuitive. I offer somatic and relational therapy for individuals, couples, and families in Texas. Helping queer people and sensitive people reclaim their aliveness is my calling. Hello! I’m Alexis. Life can be tough, and sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain of how to move forward. But what if there’s a way to not only manage life’s challenges but to thrive in spite of them? As a licensed clinical social worker in Texas and Florida, I specialize in helping individuals conquer anxiety, depression, and emotional roadblocks while building stronger, more resilient lives. Therapy is a powerful journey toward self-discovery, and I’m here to guide you through it. Whether you're dealing with stress, navigating a big life change, or simply trying to reconnect with your true self, we’ll work together to create lasting, positive change in a safe and supportive environment. Congratulations for taking the first step and showing up for yourself.
On the outside, things might look like they’re working—but inside, it feels overwhelming, exhausting, or just… off. I work with thoughtful, driven people who are ready to untangle what’s going on and move toward something that feels better. My approach blends CBT, mindfulness, and relational work in a way that’s collaborative, down-to-earth, and actually useful in your day-to-day life. In sessions, you’ll find a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore what’s coming up and build practical tools for change. Our first session focuses on understanding your goals and creating a path forward that feels supportive and manageable.
I specialize in providing trauma-informed therapy that is tailored to meet the cultural framework of diverse clients, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, women of color, children of immigrants, and survivors of interpersonal trauma (i.e. child abuse, sexual assault, intimate partner violence). As a therapist, I am dedicated to building a therapeutic environment that encourages authenticity, transparency, and compassion. I take a client-oriented approach that centers around my belief that people can take charge of their journey to healing and recovery. I trust that the client is the expert of their own lives, and my role is to consistently empower them to develop toolkits to be able to navigate daily struggles and lived experiences.
I’m a trauma-informed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who helps adults heal from the inside out. I specialize in working with those impacted by trauma, childhood abuse, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients arrive feeling disconnected from themselves—exhausted by survival mode, unsure how to feel safe, or burdened by past experiences they were never given space to process. I provide a calm, supportive space where you don’t have to explain everything or be “strong” all the time. Together, we’ll explore what your nervous system has been holding and begin building the safety, clarity, and emotional regulation you need to feel more grounded and whole. My approach supports the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses—because healing isn't just in the mind; it happens through the body, too. I tailor each session to you. Whether you’re navigating trauma responses, managing daily anxiety, or trying to reconnect with who you are beneath the coping strategies, we will move at your pace—not the pace of pressure or performance. My work integrates evidence-based practices with deep compassion and curiosity. I offer therapy online only, serving adults in Texas and Hawai‘i, with appointments available Monday through Thursday.
