Therapists for college students near 30332
OMG! This college thing is HARD - everything from the application process, to balancing all my assignments and social life and different professors and roommates and my parents (and...!), to figuring out the best major and then actually trying to get a job applying what I've learned. Feel familiar? If the stress, anxiety, worry, and decisions you're juggling are overwhelming you and you are not functioning at your best level, maybe it's time to check out some other ways of managing all that's going on. In a very relaxed and safe space, you can meet with someone whose many years of professional experience guiding students through their major transitions are shared in a comfortable living room decor where jeans are the dress code. We will work as partners to discover and expand your strengths and resources so that you can move in the direction you want to go. And you will come to understand that "therapy" is not about fixing something that's broken but developing the strategies to make the most of what's within and around you. Hope to see you soon!

I specialize in working with queer and neurodivergent clients, including those with no formal diagnosis, particularly autistic people, individuals with ADHD, and couples with mixed neurotypes. I am interested in exploring embodiment, somatic interventions, expressive arts, and pleasure activism with clients. I work with a variety of needs, such as navigating non-traditional relationship structures, anxiety, depression, self-actualization, low desire, identity development, and dysphoria, and the way grief can interplay with these needs. I facilitate these explorations through a humanistic, feminist, and systems-oriented lens. My area of focus is trauma-informed sex therapy. I hope to support clients as they defang shame and center joy and pleasure in their lives. I have four years of experience working with survivors of sexual trauma and a lifetime of working with queer people; in addition, I am kink-aware, polyamory-positive and -informed, pro-sex work, and organizer-friendly.
Do you struggle with neurodivergent challenges, past trauma, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm that affects your day-to-day life, relationships, or ability to function? Do you feel exhausted by the emotional weight of past experiences or the constant pressure to keep up with everything? Now more than ever young adults are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how to manage neurodiversity challenges, heal from trauma, and create a life that feels fulfilling and grounded. I believe in the power of connection and the counseling relationship can help you heal, grow, and find hope again.
Our goal at Provision Counseling Center, LLC is to ensure each client has a clear understanding that the therapeutic process is unique for each person. It varies based on the therapist, your preferences, what you’re working on in therapy, and the therapeutic approach that is best suited to your needs. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I do not believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral and trauma focused counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
Everyone experiences wounds in life, be it loss, illness, abuse, a difficult relationship, neglect, or any other overwhelming issue. Sometimes even experiences that "should" bring joy like graduating, starting a new job, marriage, or having children can render us feeling like we are in crisis - or stuck. We work with clients to help them get unstuck from feelings of anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity. When we can identify the patterns that keep us in pain, we can begin to develop new ways to cope and manage the stress of our lives.

Stress in college can be difficult to manage at times because of the change in responsibilities of being away from home, less structure to routines, worrying about grades, worrying about finances, all while trying to establish new connections and build relationships in a new place. These stressors often lead to anxiety and depression. The good news is that you don’t have to manage alone! We can work together to help you learn the tools you need to maximize your strengths, and be at peace, while thriving in a busy college environment.
Greetings! I'm Viola & I'm deeply committed to helping people understand & accept their entire selves. As a neurodivergent clinician, I am familiar with the discomfort that comes from lacking a holistic understanding of one's self. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been captivated by the question: “Why do we, as humans, do what we do?” Ten years into my career, that fascination has only grown. I’ve spent years mapping the way our brain, conditioning, and hidden beliefs drive our behaviors and more importantly, how we can better understand them. But here’s the truth: talk therapy alone doesn’t always go deep enough. That’s why I integrated Shadow Work into my practice. When you explore the parts of yourself you’ve buried—the fears, shame, and old wounds, you stop running from them and start reclaiming your power. That’s where profound healing happens. I don’t believe in surface-level fixes. I believe in bold, lasting transformation. If you’re ready to stop avoiding the parts of yourself that scare you, and start living as your most authentic, unapologetic self, you’re exactly where you need to be. So I strive to create a space for you to safely sit with the confusion or discomfort of your past that led to behaviors not representative of your true self. You cannot live authentically when you deny parts of yourself that you believe to be less than or undesirable!
Life can shift in ways we never expected—whether from trauma, loss, relationship changes, or mounting anxiety. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like you're just trying to make it through each day. If you're a trauma survivor, have experienced sexual assault or abuse, or are navigating a major life transition, you're not alone—and healing is possible. I specialize in working with trauma survivors using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). These approaches help reduce distress, process painful memories, and build a sense of safety and control. I also support clients experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, and major life transitions. I work with individuals and with couples. Whether you're processing the past or managing the stress of the present, therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based care. If you're ready to begin, I invite you to call or email my office to schedule your first appointment. Let’s take that next step together!
I have been in practice for over 20 years and enjoy working with graduate and undergraduate students. Many of my student clients have been interested in reducing anxiety or depression symptoms, working through family, friendship or relationship issues, or simply having a safe place to talk with someone outside of their support circle about a current transition or struggle.
Seeking help is challenging. Having to share thoughts and feelings with people can be intimidating. Having to talk to someone you don’t know can be intimidating. Stranger danger! However, like many things in life, it's not as hard as it seems. I work with people who feel overwhelmed with their thoughts and stress. The person who feels stuck. Overthinking leads to anxiety, anxiety leads to avoidance, and avoidance leads to feeling unhappy. Let's break that cycle!
Oconee Counseling exists to help individuals, couples and families thrive. We are a group of therapists who take a collaborative and holistic approach to outpatient mental health. Our integrative model addresses emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, social and environmental factors that all influence a person's well-being. We use a wide variety of interventions to help people restore optimum health and wellness and to live their lives with meaning and purpose.
I am able to build rapport quickly with people and clients in general. I am willing to work with people who are ready to receive the help they need. I am easy to talk to, try to be a good listener, honest, up front, and aware of issues related to immigrants as I am originally from Pakistan and a practicing Muslim. I love working with students specially as they are in the process of transitioning in life and often times need more help with coping.
Navigating life’s challenges doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or isolating. I work with teens, women, and families to provide a safe, affirming space where you can explore your emotions, build healthier relationships, and develop meaningful coping tools. Whether you're facing anxiety, life transitions, parenting stress, or family conflict, I meet you where you are—with empathy, curiosity, and compassion. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and deeply person-centered. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not a clinical checklist. You’re the expert on your life—I’m here to walk alongside you, offering support, insight, and strategies that align with your goals and values. I specialize in helping clients untangle difficult emotions, improve communication, and reconnect with their strengths. If you're looking for a therapist who is approachable, thoughtful, and committed to making therapy a collaborative process, I’d be honored to support your journey.

Viktor Frankl said "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." I find building healthy client/therapist relationships very satisfying. I enjoy working with clients who are open to growth. I am the mother of 3 young adult daughters. I am active in my profession by serving on the Board of Directors as President for 2018-19 as well as 3 prior terms as Western District Chair, for The Licensed Professional Counselors Association of GA (LPCA-GA). I am Certified as a Clinical Supervisor by LPCA-GA. I work with all sorts of populations, but I particularly feel that my strengths lie in working with young adults, adults, women, teens, pre-teens, parenting issues, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma and anyone going through a challenging life transition or existential crisis. I am Certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional through IATP. More details available on my website. I love being a Psychotherapist because I have the honor of hearing my clients stories. Each day I learn something new from clients and I hope that they are learning from me as well. Every day I am amazed at the strength and courage my clients have shown in their lives and I am honored at being invited into those stories and asked for guidance and clarity. College is supposed to be “the best years of your life,” right? So why does it sometimes feel like you’re stressed, overwhelmed, questioning everything, and running on caffeine and vibes? I work with college students and young adults who are trying to hold it all together — classes, relationships, family expectations, future plans — while quietly wondering, “Why does this feel so hard?” Anxiety, mood swings, burnout, breakups, identity questions, substance use, grief, big transitions… it’s a lot. And most people try to power through it way longer than they need to. You don’t have to have some perfectly organized explanation for why you’re struggling. If you’re overwhelmed, stuck, unmotivated, or just not feeling like yourself lately, that’s enough. You don’t need a five-point plan before reaching out. Therapy with me is grounded, supportive, and real. We’ll talk like actual humans. We’ll slow things down. We’ll figure out what’s going on underneath the stress without judgment or pressure to “fix” everything overnight. We move at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you. My goal is to help you feel more comfortable in your own head and body — so you can make decisions with clarity instead of panic, respond instead of react, and maybe even sleep a little better. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through this chapter. Support counts.
