Children and young adults have such unique issues to navigate in today’s world. As a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, I want to create a space for children and young adults to process where they are no matter what that looks like. As a therapist, I specialize in working with clients that struggle with anxiety, depression, life changes and adjustment to different phases and stages of life. Young people are constantly growing and changing. I work with clients to process their growing pains through self-expression. As a former school counselor, I have a heart for helping young people overcome challenges and realize their strengths. Expressive arts and creativity are often at the core of our sessions. Whether that is writing, drawing, or other forms of art, we can use those skills to help you process and externalize even the most challenging emotions. My biggest goal is for you to be able to utilize your passions in the healing process. Ultimately, therapy is a brave space where I guide you in taking ownership of your story and experiences. It would be an honor to start that journey with you! When I am not with clients, I spend my time supporting my alma mater, the University of Georgia! Go dawgs!! I am currently under the supervision of Catherine Baxter, CPCS 2069.
Holistic Approach Sacred Journeys, LLC offers an environment of unconditional positive regard where individuals can safely heal and grow. I approach mental health from a holistic perspective. I am especially interested in the mind/body connection and its implications for natural healing. I often incorporate meditation and mindfulness in order to assist individuals in connecting to their own sources of healing and inner wisdom. I have also found that meditation and mindfulness can be especially helpful for individuals who have struggle with focus and concentration. I enjoy working with the disenfranchised population. I employ an array of expressive therapeutic interventions in order to assist clients in addressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues, anger management issues, spiritual dysphoria, as well as self-esteem issues. I draw from the theories of Hakomi, a Body-Centered Psychotherapy, as well as Internal Family Systems Therapy.
Are you struggling with toxic relationships and finding it difficult to trust people? Did growing up in your family make you feel like you have to please people to avoid being rejected? Did you feel like an outsider no matter what you did? I specialize in helping young adults overcome the traumatic messages from the past that are hurting their relationships in the present.

The hardest part about getting help is that first step where we have to ask. It takes a lot of courage to admit we don't have the right tools for the job, especially when that job is our happiness. Maybe we push people away, or get angry out of nowhere, or carry so much stress we can't sleep. Burnout and depression weigh us down and make it hard to connect with those around us. Our sessions are active and genuine. I work in session to help lower anxiety, build confidence, work through trauma, and to face fear courageously. Our sessions will spend time understanding your values and goals and what you need. I want you to feel like your time was well spent in our sessions. You've already started your journey of getting help and building your skills for a more fulfilling life, and that's awesome! It'll be hard but the fact that you've already begun shows you have strength. If this resonates with you, then I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a psychotherapist working with adult clients experiencing anxiety and stress related to identity development, relationship conflict, career/academic shifts, current events, acute and chronic health concerns, life changes, etc. The overwhelm, mood changes, and even apathy resulting from these issues can easily exhaust our available coping resources, and therapy sessions can provide additional tools to restore meaning and fulfillment to our lives. My goal is to provide the safe and supportive space needed to explore your emotions, develop new coping skills, achieve your goals, and navigate life transitions with confidence. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate change, and I work collaboratively with my clients to create personalized treatment plans encouraging growth and wellness. My approach in session is down-to-earth and non-judgmental, and I strive to create a welcoming, healing environment utilizing a variety of therapy techniques.
