Therapists for college students near 02155
***While I am not in-network with the Dartmouth Student Health Plan, I do bill that plan directly and students only pay a $35 copay each session.*** I particularly enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students and my clients find my office location on Main Street easy to access from campus. I provide a warm, professional, and respectful environment where we will explore the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will work together to develop a coherent narrative of what is working and not working in your life, and draw on my experience and training to cultivate the insights, tools, and resources to create positive change. I work with adolescents and adults on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, identity questions, concerns about substance use, and life transitions; young adults struggling to thrive socially or academically; and the impact of learning disabilities on social and emotional functioning. My approach to therapy is informed by training and experience in traditional dynamic psychotherapy, CBT, attachment theory, executive function coaching and mindfulness techniques. I also have a deep interest in using findings in neuroscience to inform our understanding of various problems of living.
I am located at a group practice called Elevate Counseling Services in Easton, MA! I have a spacious holistic wellness office or I provide telehealth services (must be in MA).
If you are seeking to gain deeper insight into your patterns of behavior, strengthen your relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change, you have come to the right place. I work with young adults, adults, and couples with specialized experience in treating anxiety and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, OCD, as well as interpersonal and relational challenges. I believe therapy should be personalized rather than “one size fits all.” Therefore, building trust and cultivating a strong therapeutic relationship are central to my approach. Drawing from attachment-based and psychodynamic perspectives, I help individuals understand how past experiences shape the present. I also integrate skills from evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, cognitive flexibility, and behavioral change. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Mental Health Studies from New York University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Services/Elmhurst Hospital, where I received intensive training in providing individual and couples therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns, and my post-doctoral training at the Center for Anxiety, a private practice setting where I deepened my expertise in evidence-based treatment. My prior clinical training includes placements at Weill Cornell Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian and the Parnes Clinic, where I specialized in the treatment of anxiety, OCD, trauma, and relational challenges. My doctoral research examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health severity, further strengthening my commitment to understanding how individuals adapt and recover in times of crisis. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a supervising psychologist, supporting the professional growth and development of emerging clinicians. Patients often describe me as warm, compassionate, and collaborative, while also appreciating my honesty, directness, and willingness to challenge unhelpful beliefs.I ask thoughtful, meaningful questions designed to foster insight and help individuals better understand their internal experiences. I bring humor and presence into sessions, working alongside patients to identify patterns, build insight, and move toward growth, healing, and their most meaningful goals.
I'm passionate about working with college students who are finding life to be overwhelming and exhausting. Maybe you're heartbroken over loss, burdened with guilt, feeling you'll never be good enough, are scared, or at wits' end. Or maybe something happened to you, and it sticks with you giving you no rest. When we feel this way, we tend to isolate, berate ourselves, and spiral in our thinking or distract ourselves from these debilitating feelings. You're not alone. These feelings and responses are common, and there are evidence-based treatments to help you make sense of your concerns, take good care of yourself, and take your next steps. My main approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) while also building a warm, therapeutic relationship. I'm also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. That said, therapy is collaborative. You are the expert on yourself, and I will work with you to find the approach that best suits you. My goal is to help you not only feel better but to grow in ways that make a healthier life both possible and sustainable. Many people feel hesitant about starting therapy. Growth can be a challenging road—I hope to meet you on that road, and help with your journey.
I consider the relationship between client and therapist one of the most important factors in therapy. As a therapist, my goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space so I can assist others in exploring negative patterns in their lives and help them develop new tools to foster positive coping skills. I utilize a holistic approach to therapy, with special focus on the body and mind and how they interact. As a registered yoga teacher, my treatment approach places emphasis on turning inward and reconnecting with the body to help release stored emotions. I use a trauma-informed approach to life issues with clients and incorporate mindfulness skills, somatic movement, and breathwork into my therapy practice. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders. Additionally, I work with clients who are experiencing grief and loss, life transitions, addiction, caregiver stress, interpersonal/relationship problems, and codependency.
I provide counseling services to individuals, couples and families seeking workable solutions and a balanced life. Therapy helps individuals explore and improve their emotional, behavioral and relationship functioning. My style is warm, relaxed and comfortable; my work emerges from a positive, strengths-based perspective. I offer both teletherapy and in office sessions. I founded Just Breathe in 2010 as a safe place for all.
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to help figure out if we are a good fit to work together.

Our mission is to provide the greater Rhode Island area with exceptional therapy, offering cutting edge and research-supported treatment by a team of highly trained therapists. We offer therapy for adults, college students, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, school/career concerns, eating disorders, infertility and women's health issues, and relationship difficulties. We strongly believe that everyone has the right to respectful and affirming, high quality care. I practice primarily from a relational-dynamic perspective, though I also incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and narrative approaches to address and tailor treatment to the unique and individual needs of each client. In my work as a therapist, I focus on understanding early experiences and how psychological well-being can be fostered through relationships. I believe change and healing come through relationships: our relationships with ourselves, as well as our relationships with others. I view therapy as a collaborative process that allows both therapist and client to grow and change. My clients describe me as an empathetic, active listener who approaches their concerns with caring, respect, pragmatism, and sometimes, humor. Life has many challenges. It's how you grow from your past that defines who you are in life. You may feel alone, misunderstood, and unfulfilled with your life or personal relationships. Perhaps you're having intense negative emotions. People typically enter therapy when they are in distress, although it's usually the long-term and underlying struggles that concern them the most. Initially, we will work quickly to address your immediate pain and provide relief. As therapy progresses, our focus may shift so you develop more positive and enriching relationships with yourself and others. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and compassionate environment where you can recognize your potential and live a meaningful life. I use evidenced-based therapy that focuses on the dynamics that impact your daily experience. We look for the behaviors, attitudes, and patterns that protected you in the past but no longer serve a purpose.
My training and experience in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling allows me to work with a variety of clients in different demographics.
