We specialize in adolescent and young adult populations addressing anxiety, depression, suicidal thinking, self-harm behaviors, disordered eating, substance misuse, family system challenges, stress, social anxiety and more. We are trained in CBT, DBT and Trauma treatment. We use these skills to support an active interpersonal therapeutic relationship. We want to support you to become the person you're meant to be.

I work collaboratively with students who face a variety of challenges, including life transitions, relationship issues, and navigating queer identities. College and graduate school typically occur at pivotal developmental points for people in terms of figuring out who they are, what they want, and separating/individuating from parental figures. Together, we will work to understand your inner life, what works and what doesn't in terms of your thinking, behavior and ways of relating to others. Often, patterns develop that help us stay safe and secure when we're young, but would benefit from re-examination and modification to live a more fulfilling adult life. I have a sub-specialty working with people with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), a highly distressing fixation on a perceived appearance defect that can impact daily functioning and quality of life. I help you understand where the appearance fixation originated, including negative self appraisals and rituals/compulsions that accompany BDD. Learning to face feared and avoided situations is a gradual process that takes place over time, freeing you from the hold of BDD and leading to improved functioning and a more satisfying life.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Westerville, OH

Hi! I'm Kade- a queer, nonbinary therapist that got bored of doing traditional therapy. Now, I work with clients in the outdoors (think: walk and talk therapy, or hanging out by a creek, or making nature art) or offer to bring in art and nature into our office or virtual sessions. I primarily work with LGBTQIA+ clients as well as those figuring out life after leaving or reconsidering religion. Many of my other clients are navigating life changes that feel chaotic or are just trying to give therapy "another shot". My ultimate goal for my clients is for them to get the support they're needing. So, I'll invite you to check in about what's working or not, and will work to co-create an approach to therapy based on your own needs. Therapy should never be a "one size fits all" kind of thing.

I invite you to “get curious” about yourself and what has contributed to your current state of being. Curiosity is essential to finding meaning and connection with others and ourselves. I will work with you to open up to uncertainty and learn to coexist with your uncomfortable feelings, rather than avoid them. You are not a problem to be fixed; you are a whole, complex, and amazing person; let’s unlock that potential. I believe theater and improvisation can be wonderful ways to stay present, take risks, explore parts of ourselves, and connect with ourselves and others. If appropriate, I will use my background in Drama Therapy to help you reach your goals. That being said, one approach does not fit everyone and I work from a wide range of modalities. I look forward to participating in this exploration with you and helping you reach your goals!

Many of us experience stress and anxiety on a daily basis. While sometimes we feel in control of these emotions, other times it can feel like they are controlling us. Whether you are dealing with day-to-day stressors, or those brought on by major life transitions, learning how to identify and manage the feelings you experience can be vital to having happy, healthy relationships with others and with yourself. It’s my belief that each individual is the expert on themselves. My role in sessions is to be curious and work with you to explore challenges, experiences, and emotions. Through this exploration we can create a “tool box” of skills and strategies that work best for you. I encourage you to reach out if you are interested in starting services. Finding a therapist who is right for you is important, and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have!

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or moving through a major life transition, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with individuals who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion, whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’re returning to it. My approach is warm, relational, and psychodynamic at its core, meaning we’ll look at how your past shapes the way you think, feel, and connect today. I also integrate practical tools from CBT and DBT to help manage anxiety, depression, and everyday stress, and use mindfulness to support grounding and emotional awareness. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals as well as women experiencing anxiety and/or depression. Life is wonderful and really hard at the same time. Sometimes, our struggles take over and interfere with our ability to appreciate the things we love and care about. When this happens, it can turn into developing unhealthy ways of coping and a cycle of suffering. My goal is to help you learn how to reduce suffering and to develop healthier ways of coping. My approach is behavioral; we will work together towards specific goals in a proactive manner. Clients describe me as gentle, humorous, understanding, and change-oriented. I have extensive experience treating eating disorders and anxiety disorders. I practice using an evidence-based treatment model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model, which utilizes mindfulness, cognitive interventions, exposure techniques, and movement towards goals and values. I can also help you if you are struggling with life transitions, relationship problems, or a sense of feeling stuck in your life. I firmly believe that most people would benefit from therapy.
