My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable processing emotions, managing stress, and working through challenges. Whether you're navigating academics, relationships, identity, or life transitions, we'll work together to help you recognize your strengths and move toward your personal and emotional goals.
My name is Imari Medeiros (she/her), I am a licensed Afro-Latina therapist in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Ohio. I have had the honor of being a therapist for the past five years supporting my clients with eating disorders, body image, anxiety, and trauma. I have also helped clients with sports performance, OCD, ADHD, and immigrants needing evaluations to support their legal cases. College students are some of my favorite people to work, sessions can look like managing stress, identity, life transitions, relationships, and time management, as well as navigating mental health diagnoses while managing college expectations.
My approach relies on a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship where we can safely engage in healing work. We will navigate the pains and challenges of today, while fostering an understanding of how the past has played a role - all while inclining toward a meaningful future. I will provide tools for immediate relief as needed to support this process. I often work with folks who are highly sensitive, feel different or misunderstood, have overwhelming emotions, struggle with relationships, have low self-esteem, are queer or questioning, or are seeking to develop identity, purpose, and meaning in life. I would love to talk to you more about how I work, hear about your goals for therapy, and answer any questions you might have. I look forward to hearing from you!

I currently have a waitlist for February 2027 and am offering waitlist consult calls. You're studying nursing because you want to make a difference in the world. But it doesn't feel like you thought it would. You are faced with challenges in clinical that were never talked about in the classroom. By the end of the day, you're numb and exhausted. You spend your nights looking up how to transfer to a different major. You are spending your weekends watching the same show on repeat and wondering if this is really the college experience everyone talks about. Therapy designed specifically for nursing students focuses on creating a restorative space where you can finally slow down and process the emotions you push aside to make it through the day. We will talk about how to maintain self-care and balance while you study one of the hardest majors and learn the coping tools and boundaries needed to support ongoing success in your profession. Visit my website www.partnersinchangetherapy.com to learn more about how we can work together.

Healing doesn’t have to feel so heavy all the time. Life can be tough, but your therapy journey doesn't have to be. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just trying to understand what on earth is going on, I’m here to help with compassion, curiosity, and (yes!) even a dash of humor. My goal is to help you feel heard, empowered, and equipped with the tools to create a life you truly enjoy. Along the way, we’ll celebrate the small wins, unpack the big stuff, and maybe even laugh a little. Growth is serious work, but it doesn’t have to feel that way the entire time.

***While I am not in-network with the Dartmouth Student Health Plan, I do bill that plan directly and students only pay a $35 copay each session.*** I particularly enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students and my clients find my office location on Main Street easy to access from campus. I provide a warm, professional, and respectful environment where we will explore the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will work together to develop a coherent narrative of what is working and not working in your life, and draw on my experience and training to cultivate the insights, tools, and resources to create positive change. I work with adolescents and adults on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, identity questions, concerns about substance use, and life transitions; young adults struggling to thrive socially or academically; and the impact of learning disabilities on social and emotional functioning. My approach to therapy is informed by training and experience in traditional dynamic psychotherapy, CBT, attachment theory, executive function coaching and mindfulness techniques. I also have a deep interest in using findings in neuroscience to inform our understanding of various problems of living.
At its core, therapy is about the people sitting in a room together (or often sitting on computers together), and that safety within the relationship is one of the most important aspects of finding a good fit. I am honored to create that space with you. As a therapist, I start with one basic assumption: you are the expert of your own experience. My hope is to empower people to better understand those experiences or to bring in additional perspectives that might shed more light on aspects of one’s life. Informed by my background in queer theory, feminist theory, and anti-racist ideologies, I work with my clients to identify the external structures of power impacting their lives, then engage with the areas of their lives within their control where they can make changes and achieve their goals. While many forms of therapy take from one another and blend together, I begin with trauma informed relational-focused work and draw heavily on DBT/CBT/mindfulness-based therapy modalities. I view therapeutic relationships as dynamic, and work to tailor the experience to my clients’ needs and preferences. Whether you are someone who likes sessions to feel more conversational, someone who appreciates tangible takeaways like worksheets, or someone who wants to spend time practicing skills in our sessions, we can work together to find a treatment plan that suits you.

I utilize my experience with different therapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, strength based and mindfulness based stress reduction techniques. Are you seemingly okay on the outside, but uncomfortable and anxious underneath? Do relationships with family, friends, or romantic partners feel stressful? Perhaps you are struggling to figure out your path in college or after graduation? It’s really hard to navigate relationships and decisions for yourself now, for the first time! I believe college and your 20s are the most important time where you can shape your future by learning about yourself. Often, you grow up not really knowing you are and who you want to be, and feel lost when you try to figure this out. I’d love to support you as you navigate this time by really listening and understanding you, providing non-judgmental guidance and empathy, and asking you helpful questions. I focus on issues with life transitions (yes college and graduation), self esteem, anxiety, interpersonal conflict and communication, dating, perfectionism, break-ups, and stress. Common goals include reducing anxiety, finding a suitable partner, building connection, stronger communication, creating healthy boundaries, finding purpose/career, managing life transitions, and increasing coping skills and confidence. My clients don't fill empty spots! This is my passion and you are so important to me; I remember details and strategize between sessions ensuring you receive the best care in return for your commitment to therapy.
A working machine is comprised of many cogs and gears that must interlock seamlessly in order to function. Our minds are not all that different. One faulty belief can throw our whole center off balance. That is why counseling can be beneficial. Gaining a new perspective is the same as getting a realignment. Counseling can be a life-altering journey as it offers a judgement-free atmosphere to explore our deepest fears, sorrows, and triumphs. The sharing of these experiences can open our minds up to new ideas and perspectives that we may be struggle to uncover on our own. Stephanie Hunt is a licensed mental health counselor practicing in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Stephanie has a straight-forward but empathic approach to helping clients navigate through problems. She has extensive experience working in both individual and group settings.
