Life is full of changes. Some anticipated, and others that catch us off guard. I work with teens, college students, and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, and depression. I approach every person with openness, curiosity, and a little bit of humor. I incorporate evidence-based treatments such as CBT and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe that healing can happen alongside moments of laughter, lightness, and connection. I aim to provide a space that is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, and life transitions. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you think I may be a good fit for you, I invite you to reach out to me via email. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to discuss your goals for therapy.

I enjoy working with students who need support in adjusting to all the changes that school inherently comes with leaving home, performance anxiety, finding your people, dating, friends, study habits, getting ready to graduate and finding your next move etc. And through all of this, sometimes there is anxiety, depression, or trauma that makes all of the adjustments more difficult. Therapy can help you sort through all of that so that you have a clear mind and feel more at ease in life. Reach out to me today to schedule a free 15 minute consult to see if we are a match, it's important that you feel a connection with your therapist. Feel free to e-mail me at katieobrienlicsw@gmail.com to get things started. Visit my website or my psychology today profile for more information as well.

Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. Does if feel like you worry more than other people, have racing thoughts, or keep thinking about the same issues over and over again? Or maybe your mood has been low and the things you used to enjoy no longer feel enjoyable? These are common symptoms of anxiety and depression that we can work together to address in therapy.

If you’ve spent years feeling different, overwhelmed, exhausted from masking, or wondering why life feels harder than it seems for others, you’re not alone. I specialize in adult ADHD and autism evaluations for neurodivergent adults (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD), especially those identified later in life. My affirming, collaborative evaluation process helps you better understand lifelong patterns related to executive functioning, sensory experiences, emotional regulation, burnout, and relationships. I also provide neurodivergent-affirming therapy for adults seeking support, clarity, and self-understanding. Visit ashiftinfocus for more. We don’t need fixing- even if it feels like that. Therapy is a space to explore both the struggles and the beauty of being neurodivergent, with self-compassion, nervous system support, and real-world strategies. I also offer separate adult ADHD and autism evaluation services for those seeking diagnostic clarity. If life feels harder than it should, you’re not alone & you’re not broken. Many ND adults seek support after years of pushing through, masking and wondering why nothing ever quite fits. Support can help you understand yourself differently and move forward with less shame and more ease.

You might feel stuck—questioning your identity, struggling in relationships, or carrying anxiety and self-doubt that won’t quiet down. Maybe you’re moving through a big life change or just tired of feeling like you have to hide parts of yourself to be accepted. My clients often want clarity, relief, and a more honest connection to themselves and others. As a non-binary therapist, I understand how deeply the therapist’s identity can shape the therapy space—and how important it is to feel seen. I also bring a feminist perspective to help make sense of how social and cultural systems impact your lived experience. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in MA, VT, and FL, I support adults facing anxiety, depression, identity conflict, and relationship struggles. My specialty is interpersonal psychotherapy, and I bring a holistic, adaptable approach to each session—offering clarity, insight, and a space where you can better understand yourself and your connections. I offer a safe, affirming space where you can show up fully and honestly. My approach supports you in developing practical, realistic coping tools while deepening your understanding of yourself. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more aligned with the person you want to be—grounded, capable, and true to yourself.

Tired of briefly feeling a little better after talking to your therapist each week, while not really making any sustained progress? Feeling like you two don't really have (or haven’t even discussed) a plan to address what brought you in for therapy? If you answered “yes,” to either question, you unfortunately are not alone. From day one, a key part of treatment at T.O.P.+ Behavioral Health is developing a collaborative plan incorporating your goals and strengths. My therapy approach is warm and validating, while teaching you evidence-based tools to increase awareness of what’s keeping you stuck and to make changes to get unstuck and live more aligned with what is important to you. I offer both specialized and more general individual therapy services. As an expert in exposure and response prevention (ERP) and habit reversal training, I am proud to offer the first-line and gold-standard treatments for OCD and tic disorders respectively. In addition, I am an expert in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy for panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. Other specialty offerings include CBT for depression, adult ADHD, insomnia, and binge eating disorder. A significant portion of my practice also involves working with college students experiencing normal, but difficult, issues that often show up during college years and transitions, such as test anxiety, difficulties making or navigating friendships, trouble concentrating, self-esteem or identity issues, or relationship difficulties. In addition to the standard individual therapy services described above, T.O.P. + also proudly offers intensive therapy services for OCD (i.e., ERP), Tourette’s & Tic Disorders (i.e., HRT), Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia (i.e., CBT) and Specific Phobia (i.e., CBT). Our Accelerated ERP, HRT, and CBT Programs consist of longer sessions (e.g., two to four hours per session) compared with a standard 50-minute session. In addition, most Accelerated Programs meet more frequently (e.g., three to five times per week) compared with the standard once-weekly therapy session, allowing one to finish a dose of treatment in one to three weeks. Accelerated program sessions can take place in-office, via telehealth, in the community, or through a combination of these settings. Our Accelerated Programs are great 1) for those with severe symptoms for which meeting once weekly might not be adequate to manage concerns; 2) for individuals wanting to finish a dose of treatment in a significantly shorter period of time (i.e., Great for Winter or Spring Break); 3) in many instances to help create momentum, achieve symptom improvement and reach therapy goals more quickly; 4) save money by receiving a discount compared with T.O.P. +’s hourly rates for standard individual therapy. Contact Dr. Bowe to learn more about specific offerings and pricing of Accelerated Programs. I do not currently accept insurance for standard individual therapy or for any of the Accelerated Programs. For standard individual therapy, however, I offer a $50/session discount for in-person appointments at my downtown Northampton office which has ample free parking and is accessible by public transportation. An additional $10/session discount is offered by payment by cash/check for standard individual therapy appointments. These two discounts do not apply to Accelerated Programs. As noted above, however, there is a separate discounted hourly rate for Accelerated Programs which ends up being less than the hourly rate for standard individual therapy even after in-office and cash/check-payment discounts are taken into account. Please also be aware that many insurances also offer out-of-network benefits, and may reimburse some of your expenses for standard individual therapy sessions when you submit paperwork which I can provide you with. For a free 15- to 30-minute initial consultation, please call or email me to learn more about how I might be able to help you.

Life is a multifaceted journey. Sometimes we need help along the way. That's where I come in! *providing telehealth services* You are valid. Your feelings are valid. You are not crazy. You most certainly are not broken. I offer you all a place to feel safe, heard, and validated. I am not the authority on your life but am an outside perspective. I want to treat you like a person, not a number on a page. I value open and honest communication. I will not suggest a course of treatment that I have not researched or tried on myself. I value the use of self-disclosure if it will in turn benefit your healing process. I have spent time engaging in intensive family treatment in homes and individual work through my private practice. I am open and honest and provide individualistic treatment to everyone who decides to work with me. I want to be a tool that is used to provide some help.
