As a compassionate therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LIU Post, I provide a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. Fluent in English and Spanish, I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, ensuring they feel seen and understood. With a background in athletics, I understand the mental and emotional challenges of performance pressure, teamwork, and personal setbacks. I blend evidence-based techniques like CBT with a down-to-earth, nonjudgmental approach, helping clients gain clarity, confidence, and the tools to navigate life’s challenges. Therapy with me is a balance of depth and lightness—you’ll feel comfortable addressing difficult topics while also having space to laugh. I believe in a collaborative process, empowering clients to embrace their authentic selves and make meaningful changes.
Since starting private practice, my clients have been for the most part POC, LGBTQ/non-binary, undergrad/graduate students. Since I spent five years teaching as an adjunct and then full-time professor (in nursing), I have some insights into the challenges today's students currently experience and believe I can be a useful asset toward managing any symptoms that may interfere with obtaining your degree. Even though I am a prescriber, I treat the whole person. I don't want to just know the medicine efficacy, or lack thereof; I also want to know what's going on in your life. Is there balance? Are you connected socially? Should we also be discussing any family issues? Going off to school can be challenging and although psychotropic medication plays a role in ameliorating anxiety and depression, we also can engage non-pharmacologic interventions to get you to a better place.
You don't have to carry your struggles alone- together we can find clarity, your strengths and help find you peace. It can be hard to know where to turn and I am here to help you. Whether you're navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, or major transitions, you don’t have to do it alone. I work with adults and teens in recovery navigate the ups and downs of daily life. I work with teens struggling to feel understood at home or school. Together lets focus on what your needs and goals are, helping you feel empowered and understood. You deserve to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment. We will work together to make sure that you feel supported in every aspect. With experience in both community and outpatient settings, I’ve worked with individuals from all walks of life, including those in recovery and those facing legal or family-related stressors. Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s wrong with you, it’s about reclaiming your strength and resilience. I’m here to walk alongside you, offering warmth, consistency, and deep respect for your unique journey. Lets talk. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can see if we are a good fit.

Hello! I have over 20 years of experience working as a counselor and social worker and enjoy working with people of all ages. I employ techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, tapping, and motivational interviewing to assist my clients. I have a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. I believe in meeting people where they are at, and empowering them to do the things that they want to do, not the things others tell them they should be doing. Many of my clients have told me that I am easy to talk to, a good listener, and nonjudgmental. My communication during therapy is truthful and real. My tone and demeanor will fit what you need - some people desire a soft and gentle tone, and some people want to get straight to the point. I believe that it is important to hear a person's story and understand what their goals are before beginning any treatment. In our first session, we will talk about why you came to counseling and what you hope to achieve while meeting with me. I'd like to hear from you if you think we might be a good fit. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!

My goal is to provide you with a caring, comfortable, and supportive environment to discuss your concerns and help you develop new skills to improve your quality of life. Some of my clients only require a few sessions while others may benefit from longer-term counseling. I offer video therapy to patients using a secure video chat platform. This allows you to see a therapist from the comfort and convenience of your own home. When I'm not seeing patients, I am a professor at Rutgers. My specialties include: depression, anxiety, insomnia, bereavement, difficulties adjusting to new life circumstances (e.g., break ups, new jobs, graduation, medical diagnoses), stress related to caregiving, and behavioral management of medical issues. I am results-oriented -- together we will track your progress to ensure that therapy is actually having a positive effect on your life.
