We all deserve a space where we feel safe and supported. She also provides psychological assessment for ADHD, Autism, and mood disorders. While it can feel challenging to initiate therapy or start the psychological assessment process, Dr. Otte aims to provide a genuine, non-judgmental, and empathic space for you to explore your presenting concerns. Therapy with Dr. Otte often involves processing your experiences, recognizing patterns and developing insights, improving your relationships, and building lasting skills for managing distress. Dr. Otte values psychological assessment for providing diagnostic clarity, and she utilizes evidence-based therapy approaches to help you reach your personal goals.
Sometimes life doesn’t fall apart all at once, it slowly becomes heavier to carry. Anxiety, burnout, trauma, grief, relationship stress, family challenges, or the constant pressure to “hold it together” can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted and disconnected from yourself. Whether you are navigating college stress, caregiving, difficult relationships, or painful past experiences, therapy can be a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to breathe again. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I strive to create a space that feels supportive, genuine, and welcoming where clients can show up as themselves. I believe each person carries resilience within themselves, even during difficult seasons of life. Together, we work to build coping tools, emotional insight, confidence, and healthier patterns while focusing on the whole person — not just one challenge. I also offer faith-sensitive care for clients who wish to incorporate spirituality into the counseling process, while always meeting clients where they are in their personal beliefs and experiences. I work with adults ages 18 and older, including college students, young adults, middle-aged adults, older adults, and caregivers. My areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, burnout, grief and loss, relationship concerns, caregiver stress, self-esteem, ADHD/ADD-related concerns, family conflict, parenting, college and career stress, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting individuals and families impacted by ALS-related challenges, caregiving stress, grief, and loss. My goal is to help clients feel emotionally safe, heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.” -Fred Rogers Our experiences throughout life shape us in many ways. I work with individuals to empower them to better understand themselves, and the ways in which they manage life’s hardships, as stress and trauma are often unavoidable experiences of life. I am a trauma-focused mental health therapist, who believes that everyone has their own unique strengths for surviving and thriving through life’s ups and downs. My approach to therapy is strengths-based and attachment-focused. I value building a therapeutic alliance, and my intention is to have each individual feel heard and supported in our time together. I strive to promote a healing environment using active listening, sensitivity, and non-judgmental compassion for everyone’s unique situation.

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. – Soren Kierkegaard Reaching out for help to deal with the struggles of life can be scary. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already juggling classes, relationships, and figuring out your next steps. But you don’t have to navigate it all alone. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership where you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and deeply supportive space where you can unpack whatever is weighing you down. I often remind my clients that healing isn’t about erasing the past or pretending everything is perfect; it’s about learning how to live fully right now, even while you are working through old wounds. We all have chapters of our lives shaped by the pain of betrayal, loss, or stress—but those chapters do not get to dictate the rest of your story.
Everyone lives a diverse, intersectional existence with idiosyncratic experience. Acknowledging this means relating to others with inclusivity, openness, and humility. This philosophy not only humanizes students, many of whom identify as marginalized community members (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQ+, accessibility needs, low-SES), but also honors their authenticity. Thus, I practice from an existential-humanistic-relational lens so I can naturally tailor therapy with evidence-based techniques (e.g., CBT, SFT, ACT) and psychological theories (e.g., identity, attachment, multicultural) necessary for understanding students’ intersectionality. I typically work with students experiencing elevated anxiety and depression, while specializing in identity development, interpersonal dynamics (e.g., relating to others), relational trauma, and existential concerns (e.g., authenticity, choice, meaning). Early sessions help form a therapeutic alliance, revealing underlying issues that manifest as psychological distress (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma). From there, we identify coping skills, foster hope, and alleviate symptoms as you gain insight-oriented feedback. We also collaborate to explore, discover, and empower actions for you to become the most authentic version of self. The modern world is daunting, with a pace and pivot difficult to navigate. The rapid spin of sudden chaos. Steady drift of aimless wander. Dead still of eternal stagnation. As a serving spirit, I provide a healthy space for students to be and become that who they are and will be. Here, all are welcome. Here… all are an expression of hope and self-empowerment.

I blend therapy skills with intuition using oracle cards, Tarot, Reiki, spiritual practices and Hypnotherapy.
Getting started can be overwhelming. My goal is to help you feel as comfortable as possible so we can go at your pace. I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and addiction. Many of my clients have tried to cope with difficult life changes by pushing their feelings away or finding short-term coping mechanisms that serve as a distraction. My role is to help people listen to and manage their emotions without feeling overwhelmed or ruled by them. Being personally in recovery from alcohol helps me understand and empathize with what you’re going through because I’ve probably been there too. I like to break down clinical approaches to collaboratively determine the best fit for each person’s unique goals. I incorporate elements of neurobiology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and schema work to help people better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. If you're not sure what you're looking for yet, that's okay! Feel free to reach out to set up an introductory phone call to see if we're a good fit.

Life presents challenges to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. You often have no control of the challenges that come your way. Your only control is your response, which creates your experience. As a solutions-focused therapist, I collaborate with you to understand the power of your thoughts, and remind you that you have it within yourself to take back control of your emotional health. You are your own expert, and you have an inner vision of what you want to see happen in your life. I will strive to help you develop coping skills, awaken your resiliency and help you to change the long-standing negative perceptions and behavior patterns that prevent you from achieving your inner vision and enjoying your life.

There comes a time when we all need support in remembering who we are. So many of us have learned to shrink, perform, or lose ourselves in order to belong. This can leave us feeling disconnected, lonely, overwhelmed, or unsure of who we are beneath the roles we've learned to carry. You may be thoughtful, capable, deeply feeling, and exhausted from carrying so much. Many of the individuals I work with are highly sensitive, often therapists, healers, helpers, and cycle-breakers, longing for deeper authenticity, secure attachment, meaningful relationships, self-trust, and a more wholehearted connection with themselves and their lives. My approach to therapy is warm, relational, holistic, and depth-oriented. Together we explore patterns, wounds, relationships, and nervous system responses keeping you stuck while helping you reconnect with your authentic self. I integrate attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, parts work, and somatic awareness to support healing and healthier relationships. Healing often begins when we no longer feel the need to hide who we are in order to feel loved, accepted, or safe. Therapy can become a space to slow down, breathe, reconnect with yourself, and begin creating change from the inside out. You do not have to navigate everything alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you in the process.
