Therapists for college students near Duke University
Michelle F. Moseley Counseling, PLLC
College is often synonomous with stress. Adapting to independence. Figuring out your identity, beliefs, and preferences apart from family influence. Balancing classes and social life. You're living "Adulting 101." I work with lots of folks managing life transitions and stress. Sometimes this includes managing anxiety or working through past trauma, but it always includes working together to create a space for you to question and learn and grow into the person you desire. I want you to feel freedom to show up and take up space in your life. We'll collaborate to determine what that looks like for you.

Hello, Before you read my introduction, I want to clarify that I use a flexible fee schedule based on your affordability. I don't strictly follow the numbers that you find in my fees. (I simply needed to complete all the boxes to activate my profile.) My schedule shows a block of time that I may be available for sessions, but you must discuss session times with me before scheduling. Thank you! I worked previously in a university counseling center with students who: were adjusting to living away from home for the first time and finding their place; were coping with roommate difficulties; were athletes with sports injuries; needed improved time management and organization skills; and so much more. The excitement of "going away to college" can quickly turn into disillusionment when reality sets in. I found that offering a safe outlet for students to express concerns as they negotiate this important life transition is a treasured place for me to be. I would love to work with you. Please email me to get started.

Jacob Yarber with Life in Bloom Therapy
Hi! I work with trauma, addiction, anxiety, and stress. If you’ve tried therapy before, and are familiar with intellectualizing your emotions, maybe you haven’t allowed yourself to feel your emotions. Many times, our bodies send us signals, and it’s up to use if we listen to those signals. I also utilize EMDR throughout my approach in therapy.

Carolina Trauma Recovery and Psychological Services, PLLC
Trauma Therapy for College Students | PTSD, C-PTSD, Anxiety, Life Transitions & More College can be an exciting time of growth and independence, but it can also bring challenges that feel harder to navigate when you're already carrying the weight of a difficult experience. I specialize in working with college students who have experienced trauma, PTSD, or C-PTSD including childhood trauma, relationship trauma, sexual assault, and traumatic loss. I also work with college students experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress and burnout, difficult life transitions, grief, relationship concerns, boundaries, self-worth, and other challenges that may be affecting their ability to feel like themselves. My approach is trauma-focused, collaborative, and personalized. Together, we identify what you're experiencing, what you want to change, and what approaches fit your needs and goals. CPT Intensives for College Students For students who want more focused support for trauma, PTSD, or C-PTSD, I also offer Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Intensives. These are structured, concentrated treatment experiences designed for clients who want to dedicate a period of time to actively working through trauma-related symptoms and beliefs. An intensive format can be especially helpful for college students who may have limited availability during the semester, prefer a more focused approach, or want to use a school break to make meaningful progress in their trauma recovery. CPT Intensives provide: - Focused time and attention dedicated to trauma recovery -A structured, evidence-based approach specifically designed for PTSD -More concentrated sessions rather than spreading treatment across many months -The opportunity to work through trauma-related thoughts, beliefs, avoidance, and emotional responses in a supported setting - A treatment plan built around your goals, needs, and pace - The flexibility to pursue intensive work during a school break or another period when you have more availability Therapy doesn't have to mean squeezing one more thing into an already overwhelming schedule. Whether you're looking for ongoing therapy or a more concentrated approach, my goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin moving forward in a way that feels meaningful to you. For easy accessibility, I exclusively provide therapy virtually to adults located in North Carolina. Your story is uniquely your own—your therapy should be too. Contact me to book a free consultation and let’s take the first step together.
Reece Taylor-Yoho
As a therapist at Caring Mind Counseling, I work primarily with young adults and adults navigating trauma, grief and loss, substance use, co-occurring mental health concerns, life transitions, and identity exploration. I have a particular interest in the ways these experiences can overlap and influence one another. Rather than viewing a person through a single diagnosis or concern, I believe it is important to understand the larger story—including the experiences, relationships, environments, and systems that have helped shape who you are. I approach therapy through a systemic lens while placing a strong emphasis on autonomy and adapting to unique journeys. My goal is not to tell you who you should be or how you should live, but to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and making intentional choices about the life you want to build. I hope therapy here can be a space where you feel supported enough to be honest, curious enough to explore, and empowered enough to decide what comes next. Wherever you are in your journey, I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you as you discover what matters to you, navigate what has shaped you, and move toward the life you want to create.
Go With That, PLLC
You may have found your way here because you want support with anxious thoughts, low self-worth, nightmares, confusing and intense emotional reactions, or healing from difficult experiences in childhood. Whether you've never been to therapy, or found traditional talk therapy hasn't quite clicked for you, my passion is supporting you through healing. My approach is gentle, affirming, and playful. I believe that every part of ourselves and every emotion has a purpose, often trying to protect us, even if the outcomes aren’t always ideal. My role will be to speed up your brain’s natural healing process by providing skills and interventions specific to your needs, using humor and levity along the way. I've seen how powerful this work can be, and I'd love to partner with you on this journey. Building the right connection matters, so let's start with a conversation to see if we're a good fit! If any of this resonates with you, schedule a 15 minute consultation which you can schedule directly on my website, or call and leave a voicemail.

Rachel Rosenthal
I believe in the quiet brilliance that lives within everyone. A light that may flicker beneath exhaustion, doubt, or the weight of being everything to everyone, but never entirely goes out. You are the steady one, the go-to, the fixer of things. Yet in still moments, the whisper comes: "What if they find out I’m barely holding on?" Here, you are invited to lay it all down. To exhale. To listen inward. My mission is to help you return to your own knowing: the fierce, intuitive, radiant self that may have been buried beneath roles, expectations, and the noise of the world. Through thoughtful, compassionate therapy, I will help guide you, not toward becoming someone else, but toward remembering who you’ve always been.
James Wuwert
The students I work best with are often motivated, thoughtful, and used to doing well. They may be successful in school, involved in activities, or working hard toward their future, but underneath that success they may be struggling with anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, or OCD. College can bring a lot of pressure. Students may worry about grades, relationships, their future, making mistakes, or whether they are “doing enough.” Some find themselves stuck in cycles of checking, seeking reassurance, avoiding situations, or trying to get everything exactly right. Others may feel overwhelmed by a major life transition, loneliness, low mood, or the expectations they place on themselves. I especially enjoy working with students who want to understand what is happening and are ready to make meaningful changes. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where students can be honest about what they are experiencing while learning practical ways to handle anxiety and move forward. For students struggling with OCD and anxiety, I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also work with perfectionism, depression, life transitions, relationships, and the challenges that can come with being a high-achieving student. You don't have to figure everything out on your own. Therapy can be a place to slow down, gain perspective, and develop the confidence to move forward with greater freedom.
Ida McNiel-Isaacs

I also provide supervision to clinicians seeking licensure. It takes a lot of courage to reach out to a therapist for assistance. I use a wide variety of modalities, to include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, experiential therapy, solution focused therapy, brief therapies and EMDR. We will examine the issues that are causing difficulty for you and address the continuum of coping skills that may be helpful to your situation.
